I'm up - I didn't get to sleep until two, but I still got eight and a half hours so that's nice.

Did anyone else have as much troulbe getting online as I did last night?  And then around 6:00 we started getting a wind storm, so I went to bed.  But, I am not responsible for the all-time low yesterday!  I blame that on DR Jose.

In resonse to all the requests for photos (well I think at least one DR mentioned something about it) here are a few photos of my Bilbao trip. The silver building is, of course, the Guggenheim Museum. The stained glass window is in the railway station.

Good Morning, once again!

I took a little break to get things organized here, as well as to join my friends/hosts for a breakfast "appetizer" of sorts. My last stop last night was Fred 62 in Los Feliz. They're famous for their housemade pop-tarts - which they call Punk Tarts. So, I brought back a few for us to enjoy this morning - Pumpkin and Raspberry. And they were very good.

And as bk mentioned, we did have a good and thorough rehearsal yesterday. I was trying out some "new" charts that I came up - mainly transpositions - so now I have to get used to reading those (instead of the originals). Slowly, but surely.

last night the Vixter and I drove into Queens to See the Queensborough College production of  Little Shop of Horrors
One of her friends is a student at the college and a huge fan of the show

DR vixmom - I believe Queensborough College was one of the last stops on the bus and truck tour I did of Anything Goes. That auditorium certainly is "charming" and has some "character". ;)

What play did Jose see?

Well, since you asked...

I saw Next Fall at the Geffen Playhouse. -Thus my time spent on the 2 Bus Line - a.k.a. the Sunset Blvd line.

I had missed the show when it was in NYC, and I'm glad I got to see it last night. All I had really known about the play, besides it receiving some wonderful reviews, was that it was a bit of a tear-jerker and dealt with the relationship of a gay couple, well.. It certainly was that and much, much more.

The play was directed by Sheryl Kaller. Sheryl and I worked for two seasons up at New York Stage & Film, and I was eager to see her Tony-nominated work. As it turned out, she was there last night too. It was her last night in L.A. before heading back to NYC. -And if I had actually made the show on Friday night as originally planned, then I would not have seen her. We had a brief catch up session right after the show before she headed backstage for one final check in with her cast. It was the perfect way to cap the evening.

Where did Jose eat?

Well, since you asked...

I had dinner at Yamato on the UCLA campus. -The Geffen Playhouse is on the UCLA campus too. It was good, not great sushi, but what it lacked in finesse, it more than made up in the size of their portions. I ordered their house roll, The Yamato, and it turned out to be composed of two regular sized rolls placed end to end on a long plate. And I had also ordered a few other items to round out my menu. Needless to say, I had more than enough to eat once everything was placed n my table.

It is interesting that I can read the description of a play, and it doesn't make me curious at all.....but when someone here on HHW talks about it.....it becomes much more interesting and real....and maybe even a "hope I can see that someday..." show.

Except of course DR VIXMOM's Little Shop of Horrors.
