DR MBarnum I'm sorry about your friend.  Something similar happened to my aunt but fortunately my uncle called her the second day & went over when she didn't answer the phone.

By any chance is her dog a particular breed?  If so there should be a rescue group for the breed with people who foster.

He is a standard poodle.

DR TCB, of course DR Jane was right. I would not be upset if someone made an unintentional error.

Although funnily enough by the time I read your comment you had already edited it. So if DR Jane had not commented then i never would have known you made the mistake.

I'm glad you weren't offended.   I try to be careful about those kinds of things.

If you don't mind DVD's instead of Blue Rae......the Stanley Kramer collection is only $11.99 at Amazon.

I wanted to buy DR T - and got SHIP OF FOOLS, THE WILD ONE, MEMBER OF THE WEDDING, DR T, and GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER.....so for about $12....I couldn't resist.

The Claudette Colbert CLEOPATRA 75th Anniversary Edition is $5.35.

I love SHIP OF FOOLS.  What a great film.

My actress friend Jewell Lain called me today from a nursing home in North Hills, California. She had been in the hospital over the weekend as she fell and broke her leg last week. In addition to falling and breaking the leg, she lay on the ground for a full two days before anyone found her!

Needless to say, she is not a happy camper. Her dog, Bon Vivant, is at her little house/apt and someone is evidently checking on him each day and giving him food. My concern is that in a worst case scenerio of Jewell not being able to return home, what will happen to her dog. I have my friend Jerry Lee, who lives in Silverlake, getting the word out down there for someone who can keep the dog either for the short term or for the long term.

I worry that if something should happen to Jewell that the dog would end up at the pound, and being an old dog he might get put down. My understanding is that the pounds in Southern California are filled to capacity. Bon Vivant is such a wonderful, well behaved animal.

Perhaps Jewell could come and live with you?  And Bon Vivant, too.

Met Steve for drinks and a meal. He wasn't in a good mood because the night before his 22 year old son had been attacked and beaten up by a gang of four youths who made off with his phone. His son ended up with a bad gash on his face and a broken finger. The police seemed fairly helpless as to what they could do.

How horrible.  Vibes for Steve's son.

Does anyone here watch BODY OF PROOF.  I have always liked Dana Delany since she was on CHINA BEACH, but I watched this show last week, and I thought she was terrible.

I too am a Delany fan and could not continue to watch this show.  I'm shocked it is still on.

I'm glad that it wasn't just me.

No cancellations yet, so we are still looking at December 16.  That actually might work out better for the surgery after I retire.

Are other parts of the country familiar with little two year old Sky Metalwala, here in Washington?  His mother claimed that she ran out of gas taking him to the hospital a week ago last Sunday, so she left him in the car while she walked to a gas station (a mile away) with her four year old daughter.  The boy was gone when she returned.  Funny thing!  The car was not out of gas; and a very similar story had aired on LAW AND ORDER SVU, the night before.

Congrats to DR TCB on his impending retirement from The State.

I was happy to do it a few years ago, and I will qualify for SS payments in August, 2012......if I live that long.

Could "One less bell to answer, one less egg to fry" be considered a saw?

::)

Funny you should mention that, as I got an advance copy of the new IT TAKES A THIEF Complete Series set, and I instantly went to an episode I remembered from my childhood featuring The 5th Dimension as guest stars, where the bad guys had Marilyn McCoo add three weird chords to the end of "One Less Bell" to set off an explosion.

Thank you.  You and I both.  I am still going to continue with my SS Disability application.  The main problem is managing to survive until I receive my lump sum payment.
