Good Afternoon!

Errands have been run. Lunch has been savored. And now I need to finish getting ready for my jaunt down to San Diego, as well as tonight's rehearsal.

Wow! I just got in today's mail the second disc of EILEEN. I can't wait to hear the rest of the score.

DR elmore - Will the EILEEN score/recording fit on 2 or 3 discs?

DR Jane, that brutal, murder in Ashland of the young grocery store clerk is horrifying.

Yes, you don't expect such a thing to happen in Ashland. And the police say it was a random act, which is really frightening.

It is very upsetting & frightening.  I spoke with a friend today who's son used to work at Shop & Kart.  Of course he is upset but my friend's younger son was good friends with the young man.  I fear the murderer will never be found.

Richard and I are off to a community Thanksgiving Eve service and we'll get to do something we don't do very often - sit together in church!

Bye for now...

Just returned from the new Martin Sorcesse film HUGO. I watched it in 3D. (I don't normally watch a film in 3D as I find it difficult to put the 3D glasses over my regular glasses.)

I was very disappointed in the film and found it for the most part a bore. The previews seemed to be marketing it for children, but I don't think it is. I stuck with it to the end because of the aspect of the plot below.

SPOILER

The only interesting aspect of the film was the revelation of the Ben Kingsley character and the related material associated with the character.

END OF SPOILER

In my opinion is to save your money.

At the climax of the film the lights came on in the theater, the sound went off and film froze. They fixed it but we missed about 5 minutes of the plot. The audience received a free to see another film.

Everything is going wrong lately. By "everything" I mean gadgets, appliances etc. A few days ago my Fuji camera went wrong only a few months outside of the guarantee. Fuji's on-line standard repair quote was ridiculously high compared to the original price of the camera, so I took advantage of their repair upgrade where they supply a new camera at a discounted price and they supply labels to send the old camera back.
At the same time my DVD recorder has stopped recording. At least it's still under guarantee so I can take it back to the shop for repair - but it's another inconvenience and will probably take weeks before I get it back.
Then, this morning, I switched on my bathroom fan heater but it refused to switch off! So the bathroom was soon reaching astonomical heat levels. I had to switch the house electricity off, open the cover and disconnect the cables. It looks like the plastic device holding the switch pull cord has broken but there's no way of repairing it, so I've had to order a complete new heater from Amazon which should be here tomorrow.

Mechanical vibes to Doug R.

It's now become dinner at Tamarind on Saturday, brunch with old college friends on Sunday and dinner on Monday with our Teeside friends.

Oh Ben, I'll bet your college friends aren;t that much older than you are.

I thought I'd better test my new camera last night. Here's a shot of the London Christmas lights:

Wow!  It doesn't look a thing like A CHRISTMAS CAROL.

DR ELMORE......I think that would be Helen Morgan as played by Ann Blyth.

I wonder how Ann's agent broached the subject of being the celebrity spokesperson for Hostess Twinkies.  ;)

My firend, Cynthia, and her husband wanted me to come over to their house for dinner.  But I feel a little uncomfortable eating at someone else's house, and not knowing how my body is going to react.  So, we decided on a compromise.  They are bringing me dinner to my house, serving me, and then going home to their own dinner.

Very nice people.

My firend told me I had a cheap one.  It has now been replaced with a higher quality brand.  A Brunskirk, or something like that.

Isn't it?  I have submitted a menu list for next week's dinners, but I don't know if that will fly.

Well, I'm still at work, but our building is officially closed.  I need to make sure that everyone is either out of the building, or if not, THEY get to close everything down.

Be back later!
