JMK - I understand that the HDMI cable would only have been the culprit in the weird video glitches in that output.

All this talk about drinking has made me wonder:  what is it about Bobby that reminds Harry of the Seagram Building?

I'm in Philly today where I will shortly give a presentation to a room full of people who won't really understand what I'm talking about but have to be there to listen to every word of it.  My kind of audience!

Boy is it raining hard here today. Not nice weather at all. I guess the only worse thing could have been if it was colder (like it was supposed to be). Then we would have had one major snow storm.

Only the first two episodes of the Bruno Cremer Maigret Box set 5 have English subtitles but those titles are also available as Vol 21 in the double disc DVD series. They are available directly from the distributors, One Plus One website - oddly enough they do not list Box set 5 at all. I registered on the site and entered the DVD in the basket but when I tried to pay for it I got an odd message saying payment is only by gift coupons - whatever that means. I've emailed them for clarification.

What is up with eBay sellers?  I have had more damned wrong items sent to me this past week than ever.

I'm kind of frustrated over this latest wrong shipment, as I thought I had found a completely odd, MAD-esque poster I had when I was probably 10 or so, and this fool seller shipped the wrong item.  I'm hoping against hope they still have the correct item and can ship it to me.  A few days ago another brain dead seller sent me a children's book instead of the TV Guide I had won.  How hard is it to keep track of this stuff?  Back in the day I used to sell tons of stuff on eBay (before their policies got so ridiculous) and I never, ever shipped the wrong item.

I know many of you wouldn't be caught dead watching Fox News, but I will be at the Republican debate tonight - doubt I'll be on TV,  but you never know.  On a funnier note, my friend Paul is one of the most liberal people I know.  He absolutely hates Fox with a passion.  They are set up outside the SC Convention center now and the background is a mural of 4 buildings that Paul painted a few years ago.  Cracks me up.

Hmmm, Rick Perry is being interviewed inside, the mayor of Minneapolis was interviewed outside with Paul's wall in the background.

Hoo-dang!  How nice to come home after a dispiriting day of Christmas shopping to find a packet from our talented genius host, BK, containing an inscribed copy of MURDER AT THE MASQUERS, which I blurbed for him as well as a treasure trove of Kritzerland CD releases.  I am currently listening to SMUMMER & SMOKE from that cache.  Thanks, O Generous Brilliance!  Much appreciated.  My Bruce Kimmel literary collection now spans half a shelf and is pushing other books elsewhere.

Believe it or don't, I watch FNC daily.  Betsy screams at me.  :)

If you see this as a background for a live outside shot, it's Paul's mural.  It's 1/2 block long and two stories high and depicts 4 building fronts in the 1800s

From a block away (which is about the distance they are shooting from) they look like real buildings

OK, time to get my shower and wait for my ride to pick me up.  We're having dinner at the Country Club then off to the Convention Center.   The doors open and 6:00 and we have to get through security.  No phones, no cameras, no electronics of any kind, so I won't be posting photos.

I had to leave the reading of PIPE DREAM early to run a few errands and do some banking. It was a good day, and Rob Berman's fantastic with an orchestra. I saw friends Marc Bruni, Ted Chapin, Bruce Pomahac, Wayne Blood, Jonathan Tunick, Red Press, whose first Broadway show he played reeds in was Merman's GYPSY, Ben Lively. Joshie, and a lot of players. It was quite a lot of fun.

I ran my errands, made a bank deposit, and got home to find the mail had arrived between 10am and 4pm. I'm still floored since most days this week, thanks to the idiot manager of my local post office, the mail arrives around 5:30.

That's a great mural, Cilla.
