Surprised that they introduced Aretha Franklin at the Whitney Houston funeral, and it turned out Aretha wasn't there.

I have a feeling what elmore mentioned (in possible jest?) about there being an ultimate DVD of this service will actually happen - though I bet the proceeds will go to charity.

That's just speculation, no inside info.

I am back from my errands to find a huge check in today's mail. Yowzah!

So far, the day goes well. I hope a phone call I did not answer last night wasn't from the jerk Master Toymaker, but isn't 213 area code Los Angeles?

And the good news is, I avoided the Whitney Houston brouhaha, although I'm sure the media will keep it going as long as they did the deaths of Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson.

I rather enjoyed Anna Nicole.

So, I baked the coffee cakes at 350o and when they were done turned the oven up to 375o to roast some almonds.  When they were done, I turned the oven up to 425o to pre-bake pizza crust for tonight's dinner.  Now I've turned the oven off and will knit for a while.

I must say, after having perused this completely outre parchment litho of McKinley our stockbroker sent us, our dear departed President had a way with words.  Not.

Then I guess it wasn't the Master Toymaker. Good.

Been moving stuff "in" to the house from the apartment.  I'm getting a little perturbed as the DP hasn't offered to help or even cared that it isn't getting done in a timely fashion.  In other words, he still hasn't figured out that he is the reason all the stuff went out of the house and then back into the house.

And... scene.

Yes, and I think I would, too. But Whitney the Opera sounds like a tragedy in the making.

JMK, I didn't find the Milton Nascimento you recommended at the library, but I did get him performing something called "Brazilian Romance" with Sarah Vaughan. Quite wonderful.

The day has alternated between light rain, snow, & wet snow with breaks of nice weather.  Craig & Yogi even had sun when they began their long walk today.  The nice weather quickly turned to rain, snow, etc.

Meaning no disrespect, and someone somewhere will use the title "The Houston Opera," if they're not working  on it already, but it seems Whitney Houston herself already had fun with a "Houston Opera" concept in this clip from the 1990s.

It is feast or famine with the library.  Currently it is feast & I've got some reading to do if I don't fall asleep.

Produced by Sergio Mendes, you may note.

For the past hour we have had a constant light snowfall.  The sky is light again & very few snowflakes are falling.
