Did I miss something?  Did we know in advance that JEWS AND BASEBALL: AN AMERICAN LOVE STORY was going to be shown on PBS?

Gosh, no, TCB; I had no idea.  When is it on?

That would not be good.  I get enough with whatever box I must have checked. ;D  What I receive is a mix of what you are reading, reviewing & plan to read.  I usually give the emails a quick glance or save them to check out the books at a later time.

This is actually sort of disturbing to me that people are receiving this info. I don't mind that you are. But i wonder how many people checked off the box that you did. Oh well probably most if they did would just ignore it. It just seems like a lot of info!

Sorry DR TCB I can't help you with either question.  I have set it up so FB notifies me if anyone logs on that isn't me.  That also means if Keith goes to FB on his computer I am notified.

Help!

I tried to sign in to Facebook on my smart phone, but it temporarily blocked my account and then sent me an e-mail saying that someone had tried to log in to my account.  When I went into Facebook to say that it was oklay to allow me on the other device, it said the account was accessed from Overland park, Kansas and not Tacoma.  Why wuold that be?

When you tried to sign in on your phone did you not get the password the first time? Regardless of where you tried to access your facebook page. As long as you got the password correct wouldn't you be okay?

This is DR Danise's phone, right? Not sure why it would say Kansas. Can you still log in from your computer?

I wonder if you can check off a box that prevents those emails.  I doubt it since the idea is to share info.  All those people you are friends with can look you up anyway.  I assure you, if I had more than two friends I would not want all of those notifications.  I might want them from people I find I read the same books on a regular basis.

Wish i was at tonight's show.  Sounds like it will be a not to be missed show.

But here I am at the beach.  The weather is beautiful today.

And up at 4am to get ready to go to work.

Hi all.  I went to church with Thelma and Bill.   I guess that's a bit of a April Fool joke on God but since the church is still standing, it's ok.  :)

I don't know why DR TCB was having problems with the phone and Facebook.  I would sort of understood if the login had been from the Tampa area--that would have been me in some weird way but even then that shouldn't happen because I set the phone back to it's factory settings before I sent it.

I don't know what was going on down the street but we had 3 sheriff cars there.  One parked in front of my house.

I feel bad that I didn't get anything done this weekend that I planned on doing.  I didn't clean up or get the floors mopped or nothing.  Sigh.  Well there is always next week and weekend.

We tried the new Fish & Chips place the other day:

der Brucer

Looks good. I love fish and chips but don't eat enough of it these days.

I almost missed these nice photos.

In the late Sixties, we had a lot of fish and chip places open in the Northwest.  Of course. Ivar's chain of restaurants had been a huge part of the Seattle restaurant scene since the early 50s.  But we first got Arthur Treacher's, then H. Salt Esquire, and then severeal  more than I can't remember right now.  Except for Ivar's, they have all closed

Skipper's is still around...I think.  About 30 years ago, my dad was the manager of the Skipper's in Kent, and they said that if/when they ever opened one in Lacey (where my parents still live), he'd get to be the manager for that.  They did open a Lacey store, but they didn't give him the job. :P He quit.

Jennifer - I thought you had Kobo because you asked about it - I don't know from all these e things. :)  I get that stuff from Goodreads all the time.  I get to see what a lot of people I don't know are reading.

Yes i did mention it because you asked if you were missing any ereaders. And that is the big one in Canada. But like DR Jane said I have a kindle.

You also must have your settings to receive what your "friends" are reading. I am sure there is a very simple thing you can do to change this. I know it would drive me crazy. I get enough emails without knowing what everyone else is reading (although i do love to check to see what people are reading. I just would not want to receive an email updating every single person on my friends list.

How very strange.  And I just received a video showing me what elmore is watching on VHS!

are you blind now?

Just harvested a load of loquats, which I've started to pickle. First major harvest from this tree, which I planted 11 years ago. And I haven't made a dent in what the tree has one it.

Looks like loquat pie and loquat cobbler this week.

what in the world is a loquat?

also had a long chat with Steve Gostelow was the man inside the menace in More Than 30 Years In The Tardis, a documentary celebrating the 30th anniversary of Doctor Who. He worked with costumes and Dalek props, playing a Cyberman and Cybercontroller, a Dalek, then a Red Dalek, and then The Dalek Emperor. He brought  several of the actual props used during filming including a Dalek and cyberman head -

Went to several author panels on Friday night and Saturday - most of them included David Weber- the CON was a little light on "names" this year

We were supposed to haevSylvester McCoy whom I was really looking forward to hearing - we'd met him several times in the late 80's  and he was a wonderful speaker as well as very personable one on one but the filming schedule on The Hobbit changed and he'd had to cancel

-  but still we were all tired but happy by the end of the CON
