A few months ago I mentioned the arrival at Edinburgh zoo of the giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guan.

The exciting news is that they are due to meet, or rather to mate, tomorrow! Tian Tian only has two days in the year to conceive and when they meet for the first time tomorrow, they will either fight or with luck we may soon hear the patter of baby panda feet.

TOD: I believe it was something from the label that shall be nameless, most like the Sondheim album from the very beginning. I didn't get into Internet shopping until BK  promised something I couldn't find in the store, namely bonus tracks.

Good morning, all!  I slept well, so let's get to the important issue for today:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Positive surgery vibes for our DR TCB! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since I never did accomplish everything I had planned on Saturday, I will be heading shortly downtown to Toyland to see what I can accomplish with sme 11x14 paper and linstruct myself in using our binder.
Last night I finished Album Produced By, which I enjoyed immensely, and I'm pondering BK's comment about an Amazon review. If I sound reticent, it's primarily because I am in the book and I don't know my approach. It was easy on Facebok to post the cover, say "I'm enjoyng this and I'm in it. Buy it and read it." It was easy to write Amazon reviews about the books with which I had no connection, but this one's more complex.
So, I'll work it out. It may take me a day. After the beautiful reviews by DRs Der Brucer, Matthew and JRand61, I'm feeling both intimidated and stymied! And neurotic.
After 1999, bcause BK had really goosed my career with a lot of albums and nice reviews, I often turned him down when he called me about a project because there was too much else going on. As a result, there was a period of about three years between 2000 and 2003 where we never communicated. I was off to London with John McGlinn, working on a BBC Cole Porter project for the Cole Porter Trust, the Rodgers & Hammerstein Orgnization had a ballet, I did the first recording for the notorious Jerome Records, etc; he was recording an album I'd turned down because I'd just had a bad experience with its conductor/arranger, he did a Liz Callaway album that I now regret being unable to do it all, and he was fighting for his life, something I didn't know about until bits and pieces of inaccurate gossip and innuendo finally reached me in 2002 (I was completely focused on Toyland and its daily crises). In late 2003, I was helping Liz Callaway with her library and I learned about Bruce's new web  site, HHW. That gave me a chance to send him an email and reconnect.
When I finished the book, my initial feeling was a great sadness that I had missed the entire mess and wasn't around to help a friend in trouble. So, once I figure out whwere all of this is going, i'll see what I can do about Amazon.
Tuesday morning greetings!  Lunch with the grantwriters today, followed by some errands in Dayton.  Hope the storms hold off until I get home...
She's evidently quite content with her six dogs and memories of her career.
I wanted to get a nice plant for the table on the front porch.  There wasn't much to choose from.....but I ended up with a Croton....which I have never had before.....we shall see how it survives the summer.
