I'm about half way through BK's book, and enjoying it very much.

A daily visitor to this site is turning out to be a very interesting character in it.

I'm also more than halfway through the screenplay I was hired to write.

One would think that, the older and more experienced you get at the process, the easier it would be.

Nope!

Thanks for the update re: DR TCB. Too bad he was not moved. But great that he seems to be doing so well.

I went just the teentsiest bit crazy and got the entire collection of the Vanguard recordings of Alfred Deller.  They will help with this fershluggenah 40 year trek through the desert.  ;)

I'm a bit disappointed that, unlike my other other one person plays, there has been little interest shown in Maurice Chevalier.

One of my all=time favorites. I saw a couple of his early French language films many years ago which were really good. It's a pity they are not available on DVD.

TOD:

Bette Midler's LIVE AT LAST is my favorite live recording.  It perfectly captured her 70s concerts.

I like LIZA WITH A Z but that's more of a soundtrack and from what we now know, it's not exactly "live".

DR FJL, with a bouncy vamp lead-in, that would be a good opening line for a song.

Even though I won't bd having any guests tomorrow, I did a little Easter cleaning at home this morning before coming to the hospital.  It wouldn't seem like Easter without the smell of Lemon Pledge.

I just read that painter Thomas Kinkade died.  I could have sworn that I heard he died a few years ago.  Also kind if shocked to hear that he died of natural causes at only 52.

We had a delightful lunch with niece Rev. Amy and her family and a visit as long as the patience of her 7-year-old and 4-year-old boys.  I suspect one or both of them were asleep within the first 5 minutes of the car ride home.  I dropped Richard off here at the hotel and went back to JoAnn's for more pins and finished the Easter craft I've been working on:

That little project raised my esteem for the folks who decorate the Tournament of Roses floats about 1000 percent!

DR Cilla, what a great photo of the birthday gal!

I'll begin with the best news from DR TCB's friend Sharry:

he just seems so pleased to be out of pain and to feel his limb come alive again.

he looked fantastic...better than I have seen in months.  He's not needing much in the way of pain control and his appetite is decent.

Excellent news.

Well, the vacuuming is finished, whether I like it or not. I may have burned out the motor on the vacuum cleaner. (It was only 20 years old. What could be the matter with it?)

Back from stuff - bad news for charts from Broadway Bound - all the band charts are there but not ONE piano/vocal - I may have to change shows now - I'll see what I can gather up from my sources and maybe we can squeak by on BB.

Meanwhile, here's twelve minutes of interviews and occasional short glimpses of our last Kritzerland show.

BK, I can hardly wait to get home and watch the clips.  The wireless here at the hotel is excruciatingly slow and I wouldn't dream of trying to watch a video.

In defense of the title song from Sunset Blvd - without the full orchestration, the song just cannot be done well.  Without a string section, it sounds like dying cats - to quote bk.  And he's right.  It's in 5-flats to begin with (I believe) a horrible key for string players and when you don't have a full section, well, we all know what one violin sounds completely different than a section and when a violin has nothing to tune to, well - that's all on that.
