Hey!  Did I miss anything?

I am sorry if I have kept you all out of the loop, until now.   Anyway, on Thursday I left the Care Center and returned to my house.  I will be undergoing P.T. on an outpatient basis, after I have healed a bit more.

That nursing home was not a good fit for me.  I am sure there is plenty of guilt to go around.  Naturally, I fell like I have made all of the right decisions regarding my recovery; and I honestly believe that their actions and conditions were counter-productive to my getting well.  I talked to my surgeon’s office and I also talked directly to my nursing home doctor about my reasons for leaving; both had no problem with my actions.  I attempted to call my Primary Care Doctor, as well, but he was out of town.  I left him a message regarding the change in my care.

I would have come out of the place a lot more screwed up than when I went in.; if I had stayed any longer than I did.

Thanks.  The first thunderstorm is rumbling now. It's a little to the south.  I'm expecting a long day and night.  I did get another bag of grass seed spread on the yard, so now I'm hoping for rain!

Each of the cats has come up to me in the last half hour and looked at me like "Ok, you are going to stay here, right?"  The weather radio keeps going off and now there's thunder.  This storm isn't going to do much damage, but they say it's just the prelude

I have to laugh a bit, the tornado watch stops at the county line to the south of us and the river to the west.  It's like a tornado would come along and say "Oh, I must stop at the county line and go the other way"

Saturday afternoon greetings from rainy Findlay, Ohio!  Anita and I arrived about 5pm yesterday, had a wonderful dinner at a place called The Gathering, and attended the AAUW/Ohio book discussion of The Death and Life of the Great American School System by Diane Ravitch.  Today we've had a full day of presentations on topics like pay equity, community partnerships, human trafficking, and getting out the vote.  There's now some down time until the dinner/awards presentation at 7pm.  We've learned that our branch will receive awards for programming, communications, and diversity.

Mom was finally released from the hospital on Thursday and is now in a strangely decreed rehab center.  She would much rather be home but grudgingly admits she needs to do some therapy.

What is a strangely decreed rehab center vs a regular rehab center?

VIBES SHE WILL SOON BE HOME!!!

I guess it turned out to be a good thing that you spent the extra weekend in the hospital.  I was very concerned why you left the rehab place so soon.

How are you managing at home on your own?  Please be extra careful not to fall & hurt yourself.  I bet Nicky is happy.

TCB: I, too, was concerned that you left the rehab center so soon, but if it wasn't a good fit, then you did the right thing. I'm glad you let the doctor there know your reasons. I hope that you're comfortable and happy at home. Now that you're on Social Security disability I hope that you'll get some home health aides, too. It's a shame patients have to fight so hard to get the care they need.

We had thunderstorms but nothing bad. We really need the rain, so we're happy about that.   The sky is clearing right now, but there is a nother line of storms headed this way later.  they said on the news that the worst we should expect is large hail and wind.  I'm hoping it's not that either

TCB, your comments may or may not be a propos this anecdote, but they reminded me of it.

I play a lot of retirement homes, and at one of them a former member of my Senior Choir was a new resident.  She was probably 85 if she was a day.  She came up to me to talk to me while I was playing and I asked her how she liked it.  She leaned in and whispered conspiratorially:  "I hate it.  Look at all these people--they're so old!"

A woman in my book group just had to downsize & move to a small apartment in a retirement community.  She hates being with all the "white haired" ladies.
