First report is the inspection went very well.  We probably won't get the buyers' list of imperious demands until Saturday.

1. new roof
2. replace all windows
3 new boiler.hot water tank'
4 replace all floors - prefer mahogony will settle for old growth oak
5 re-tile all baths and replace all fixtures
6 put in new granite counter tops and  restaurant quality stainless steel fixtures in kitchen
7 reduce purchase price by 50%

Ya know I might know a CONtractor who could do everything on that list--for cheep.

Thank y'all for all the welcomes, y'all.   How nice to be a DR!

Someone asked about the Carnegie in Beverly Hills.  NE corner of Beverly Dr. and probably Dayton Way, in a location that had previously been a Red Onion.  I'm thinking late '70s for this,

Zucky's.  Somebody said Zucky's.  I can practically see it in my mind's eye, but don't know where it was.

I don't remember the Red Onion but think I remember the Carnegie Deli.  I seem to recall a few in the 70's that came and went.

I believe Zucky's was in Santa Monica.

The last hour of "Mildred Pierce" is beginning to get to me. I hate the character of the daughter so much that I don't have patience for the mother.

Vibes needed for my sister, Linda. Like me, she is prone to kidney stones (she's passed hundreds over the years). She passed three around Easter. Now, she's facing surgery on Monday because she has two stones that are too large for her to pass, so they have to remove them. One, she says, is in the shape of a piece of candy corn.

I had the same procedure with one stone a few years ago and wouldn't want to repeat it.

Oh wow that is terrible. Vibes for her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It sems as if we have delis  on every other corner here  on the Island of Long  but they are not usually sit down and eat places - I am not sure they would truly qualify  as delis in bk's eyes

Well, Mom is already zonked out and I'm fadin' fast.  Tomorrow we're heading to Livonia to visit a former Detroit neighbor, with drive-throughs of Northville and Plymouth, the two 'burbs where my parents lived while I was in college and after I left for Ohio.  My niece arrives from Illinois tomorrow, too.

'night!

The phone number worked. I spoke to him briefly. He's in the wilds of Missouri and the cell phone connection is pathetic.

the cell phone reception at my sister's house in Joplin is terrible too
