THE RITUAL
« on: May 15, 2012, 01:11:34 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had their ritual achieved, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently having a ritual of their own and their ritual, of course, is not coming home.

Wow, someone is buying the softcover of the new book - we've gone from about 500,000 in the sales rank to 76,000 - out of six million books that ain't bad.

Good morning, all! I had a dream involving our DR Ginny last night, but now I cannot for the life of me remember what the dream was about. I slept rather well, although around 3:15 this morning I thought I would never get back to sleep.

I want to leave for Toyland as soon as possible this morning, so I was up really early. Orchestra parts for two more DEAREST ENEMY numbers came in yesterday, and I want to burn them to a disc with all of the others so that Joshie and I can begin printing them. I also have another ROBERTA number to scan and send to my colleague Curtis. Following that, I will bus up to City Center and see Josh. I have a couple of things for him and it will ne nice to catch up; I haven't seen him since the GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES orchestra reading on April 15. I suspect he is pretty busy with prep work fornext week's GPB recording sessions.

After that, I will head to NYPL for some more work on EILEEN. I need to look up the production photos and look at the programs for the original 1917 production.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes of comfort and healing to DR Jane and everyone! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And, please, keep them office vibes coming!
Good morning, world.
So, here it is.  Finally.  The inspiration to end years of procrastination and get me some Cassavetes.  I was immediately attracted to "Husbands" (Bars! Grand Central! Suburbs!) upon stumbling over it on TV many years ago.  Did I say TV?  Did I say years?  DECADES.  Early to mid-1970s.  I wonder what channel would have been running anything like that back then.  Seems pretty remarkable.
Boil your water - if you live in my town.  It seems maintenance at the Morningstar Water Tower let pressure drop below 20 psi, so for cooking and drinking we have to boil our water for one minute.   However since I use bottled water, I will be fine!
I liked John Cassavettes in some movies when he played a juvenile delinquent.  I didn't much care for his movies as a director when actors improvised......ugh.
Tuesday morning greetings!  Last night I attended an orientation meeting for 2012 Middfest volunteers.  Learned a bit about France, ate some good food, and visited with friends.
 :P  We get that quite frequently, DR JRand, because we live in an older part of town and the infrastructure is aging.  It usually takes me a couple of days after the all-clear to be able to drink the tap water.
Such glorious, fleeting moments.
I sold a copy of THE SUMMER FOLK last night and, suddenly, I was 97,000.
I just got a screener yesterday for Too Late Blues on Blu-ray.
