I see that a North Carolina pastor has finally figured out a way to get rid of all us "figs." http://www.wcnc.com/news/local/NC-pastor-152424805.html

Kind of a scary man.

PS: DR Elmore, if you can build a fire escape in your part of the fenced-in electrified pen I will stay with you.

Aside from the fact this man is scary I have to wonder about his logic in thinking, if he could do this, it would really work.

I have left DR Ginny and Richard at the Yarn co., on Broadway around thecorner from my apartment. We had a lovely and liesurely lunch.DR FJL showed up around 2:45, which gave us time to catch up on the mutual friends and peccadilloes in my hometown. It was nice to see DR FJL and we had a great time. A photo was taken, DR JRand61.

And, here it is:

What a great photo! Quite worth framing,  me thinks!

I agree!  Very nice! :D

What's sad is that these idiots manage to convert more fools to their cause. His congregation is most likely the offspring of first cousins,

Can you get a photo of the fellow who plays Harvey for us?

(That's a "think" joke, i guess, rather than a "laugh" joke.)

I know. LOL! Even if gays died off in this penned off area, straights would just breed more of them, wouldn't they?

Of course, people like him do not usually consider logic.

Well, I'm off.  The Washington Center for the Performing Arts is having their annual Volunteer Appreciation dinner and I'm going!  They also announce the next season!  The Manhattan Transfer have already been announced as their CenterFest performers!!  I've seen them in concert many times before, but never locally. :D

After the dinner, I'll go to the call-backs for "Titus."

Be back later!

Just watched "Beginning of the End" for what might very well have been my first time ever.  What a hoot!  I especially love movies like this which they didn't hesitate to place in a real, specifically named non-L.A. or California locale, this one being Chicago and the Joliet area.  (I need to think of other examples.)

It's wonderful to know there are still such movies to be discovered...on nice DVDs, even!  Will listen to the commentary in a little while.  Thanks and a tip o' the hat to whichever one of you fine DRs gave me the heads up on this one last week!

Had a nice visit with Nick Redman and am waiting for Juliana, who I'm told will now be late, which means we won't finish until nine o'clock or so, which doesn't thrill me.

Intermission report from HARVEY: At the end of scene 1 the triple turntable set failed to rotate and there was a very loud crunching sound.  An announcement was made of "technical difficulties" and,a few minutes later, the house lights came up.  A few more minutes and Jim Parsons and director Scott Ellis came out to chat and tell us how magnificent the set is supposed to be.  They resumed with scene 2 and now we're about to start Act II.  Film at 11.

I just finished watching THE WOMAN IN BLACK.

it's a well made film, but I think the story would have worked better as a half hour or even one hour TWILIGHT ZONE.

There's just not enough story there for a 90 minute movie.
