Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the best notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently at the theater seeing The Best Cow.

I just got locked out of yesterday's topic

So now Chas will never hear the story about how I came to join HHW completely by accident

but thanks to that chance accident I have met some of the dearest people  who have been a great comfort and support to me through some very tough periods; I love you all!!  Thank you, BK, for letting me in!!!

Since the Vixter is working tomorrow from 11am  until 9 PM we took Vixdad out for his Father's Day's treat tonight -  he wanted to see Prometheus so we took him to the 3D showing

Vixdad and the Vixter gave it mixed reviews... after a busy day  all day out in the sun and a busy week with very little sleep  I fell asleep about 20 minutes in and only woke up when the credits  starting rolling   (shhhh don't tell Vixdad)

Yesterday was my mom's 70th birthday!  There was a party/barbecue at my parents' house (which I thought would just be the family), but several of their friends from around the state showed up!  More than a dozen people were there and a great time was had by all.  My mom loves the Hanging Garden Art Baskets that I got her for Mother's Day so much that she insisted that I get her some for her birthday, which I did.  Everyone else loves them, too.  A couple of people asked where I got them and I said that I'd let them know (I didn't have access to a computer this afternoon).  They're on sale right now, BUT it turns out that they one have one kind available right now.  I hope that they're able to get more in stock. :-\

TCB: I like your European schedule. I'd advise booking on line for the Louvre tickets or may wait hours to get in. For London, if you like heights and a good view there's the London Eye (big wheel) by the River Thames. You should certainly try to see the Thames either from the Embankment (North side) or from the South Bank (South side of course) and possibly take a short river trip. Trafalgar Square is worth a look. What puzzles me is - what is the Millennium Plaza?

Now we have to get ready to leave for Long Island.

Good morning, all! I wish my dreams had been in three acts. They were all over the place and in need of a good director. One had to with assembling liner notes - quelle surprise! -  and in another a childhod friend and I were swimming in a river.

So, I a off to put the laundry into motion and then I will return here to clear up the 1798 Irish rebellion with Wolf Tone and General Hoche.

And Happy Father's Day! I still miss mine. Enormously.

DR Jane and Ginny, I have never seen an easy water aerobics class. They are hard work! Although anyone can not go all out.

I don't watch this show, but my mom and brother-in-law do.  I don't think it's right if it's true. They imply that a couple is choosing between 3 homes. If they have already purchased one of them then what is the point? Is this definitely true?

How could he not have noticed that you were sleeping? Maybe he did! Good thing you weren't snoring. :)

I have grabbed power naps at more movies than I'd care to remember.  At least it makes the second viewing all the more satisfying.

Good morning!   I slept like a stone last night but confess I feel better for it.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the HHW Dad's!!!

I don't go to the movies a lot but am thinking about taking in Prometheus.  I just have a bit of a problem with that type of movie because you already know the ending.

Glad to hear that DR George's mum had a wonderful Birthday!

Plus every movie I try to watch on the VCR.

BK:

Re: No curtains.

I'm going to assume that the producers are the ones behind no curtains. It cost money to have union guys to raise and lower the curtain a few times a performance. I am sure curtains can be raised (and lowered) with a push of a button, but you'll still need to pay those union guys as if they were doing it themselves.

BTW I have nothing against unions they are important

I hate live performances without curtains as well and that also goes for films. I don't understand the point in wanting to avoid "presentation" - other than simply a wish to do things differently to how they used to be done.
