I very much enjoyed MR BK's thoughts on THE BEST MAN.

I also liked reading all of the DR's stories yesterday.....so I must have been around these parts probably in late 2001 or 2002....I don't remember.

After reading Ben Brantley's review of Long Day's Journey Into Night in London, I must call my parents this Father's day and thank them for being rather pleasant as parents during my and my brother's formative years, almost (at least as far as I recall) Father and Mother Know Best and Leave It to Beaver-ish.  Maybe it meant - assuming there were even any dramatic talent to do it :) - I didn't have subject matter to create the great angst-ridden American play, but so be it.  :)

The laundry is finished, as is the 1798 rebellion. Now I am working on the Restoration of EILEEN. I feel like a plastic surgeon.

TCB: I like your European schedule. I'd advise booking on line for the Louvre tickets or may wait hours to get in. For London, if you like heights and a good view there's the London Eye (big wheel) by the River Thames. You should certainly try to see the Thames either from the Embankment (North side) or from the South Bank (South side of course) and possibly take a short river trip. Trafalgar Square is worth a look. What puzzles me is - what is the Millennium Plaza?

I'm assuming you mean another three initialed DR, Doug.  :)

I thought Millennium Plaza is where the big Eye is.

The London Eye was originally called the Millennium Wheel but I've never heard of the location being called the Millenium Plaza.

I am taking Father's Day off from my church gig.

It is oddly quiet around here sans Zach.

Sadly, Doug, it is JMK and not me that is planning the European trip.

BK:

Re: No curtains.

I'm going to assume that the producers are the ones behind no curtains. It cost money to have union guys to raise and lower the curtain a few times a performance. I am sure curtains can be raised (and lowered) with a push of a button, but you'll still need to pay those union guys as if they were doing it themselves.

BTW I have nothing against unions they are important

I thought the laws of New York required a fire curtain, that coulld only be raised when the show was ready to start.  I guess I am out touch with Broadway theaters.  Next thing I know, you will be telling me that they no longer use ghost lights.

I like it! Thanks Jrand6. I had no idea Hotpoint had been around for so long. We don't get many animated commercials now - there were lots of them in the 50s and 60s.
