My Facebook Wall is currently blank.  I wonder if I did something right?

Mine is, too.  So, I guess it's their system.

Thank you Druxy, that makes me feel better.

What we need to farm next:  Blood Orange Roughy.

DR Elmore posts for me re "Porgy and Bess".  Not that that should have to be said.  But there it is.

We went out for a bit of dinner and to browse in our favorite Lima bookstore (also a Vera Bradley enabler retailer).

DR TCB, at home we only had one good-sized limb down in the backyard and a lot of twigs in the front.  Here in Lima, about 100 miles north, they've lost a lot of trees.  The cemetery we were in today was a real mess.  I think the big difference is that in 2008 the southern part of the state had a visit from Hurricane Ike that cleaned out a lot of old growth that was still standing further north.

Probably the only niice thing anyone has ever said about Ike.  Glad to know you are safe and free of damage.

I made a nice dinner for Vixdad and myself - on the outdoor grill - marinated steak, mushrooms and onions sauteed  in a butter & sherry, scallops in a lemon butter garlic and corn on the cob

One of my high school classmates (among the sixty of us who have reconnected recently) has been declared brain dead today.  He got up in the night because he was hungry, he grabbed a piece of leftovers, and chocked on it.  By the time his son found him he was unconscious.  The doctors say he is totally brain dead.  His son is just trying to bring himself to tell them to pull the plug.

Thanks, DR TCB.  There are also a lot of power outages, including at DN/G Lauren's - about a mile from our house.  Her sister, Rev. Amy, lives about an hour north of Lima and posted on Facebook about an hour ago that their power had just been restored.  There were people browsing in the air conditioned bookstore because theri power was out at home.  There are traffic lights out just down the street from the hotel where we're staying.

Our stumble-through was a little rougher than I care for - one actor in particular is really struggling with his lyrics (especially to Come Back to Me), but hopefully it will all be smooth tomorrow.  I worked with several people after - our one young (twenty-two) singer has been "trained" to sing while looking over people's heads and I really had to get strong with her.  I gave her a ten-minute master class in connecting a song to an audience and if she remembers and does what she did after we went through it all, she'll be terrific.  She was overselling and grandstanding, which I don't really allow in these shows, so we worked each of her songs and they're much, much better now.  She's really talented.

Then Shelly, Adryan Russ, and I went to Jerry's - I had an omelet and a bagel so that I don't now have to eat a meal at the Gardenia.  I'll either have some melon or a baked potato or something like that.

Very nice at the pool. Lots of people there. And they let us use our noodles.

Love that!

I don't think it got above 90 today. It's now a pleasant 83 outside. So, of course, I'm inside.

Swimming noodles i mean. They look like long floaty sticks (like 5 feet long).

So relaxing to sit on one. Then you can just float around the deep end.

I hope this slow Saturday isn't due to the terrible storms that rumbled across the country last night.  I am thinking that Kevin may be without power today.

You're right, TCB!  The power just came back on--hurray!

I fell asleep at about 10 last night and woke up about an hour later to the sounds of a horrific storm.  The power went out shortly thereafter.

The tree outside my condo lost a few branches--no damage done, though.
