My work is done. I am going to watch Richard Todd in Disney's STORY OF ROBIN HOOD from 1952.

I have that one but haven't watched it.

BTW, I'm a member of Disney Movie Club.  Joined a few years ago to get a couple of things that were otherwise unavailable, such as a couple of Walt Disney Treasures, and a few of the exclusive titles like THE SWORD AND THE ROSE that you posted about earlier.  I don't have that one, but if you want it, I'd be happy to order it.  Unless there are several things right off the bat that you KNOW you want from them, it is NOT worth joining.

Found it.  $9.98 plus shipping.  Let me know if you want it.  Actually, maybe I'll get one for myself.

DAMN!  I got suckered, again, by the way they show their pricing.  It's $19.95.  They always highlight the half-off price, or whatever their current promotion is.  (That reminds me of why I've bought so few things from them.)  Sorry about that.

BlueGobo's new clip is of Lotte Lenya singing "Green Up Time," which is a lot of fun, not the least because the singers in this 1960s show include an interracial couple who actual touch.

Thank you for the offer. I'm happy to know it's on DVD at last.

I'm enjoying the ROBIN HOOD. I had forgotten Martita Hunt is in it as Eleanor of Aquitaine. I love her.

When it was released in 1952, I was to go with a group of friends to see it, and I became sick and missed it. I didn't see it until later when it showed up on the Disney tv program. I don't believe the studio ever released it to theatres again, which was very stupid of them. I've never seen it in the theatre, and it llooks as though Disney needs to spruce it up, rev up the color and release it again.  The VHS color on SWORD AND THE ROSE looked quiye good. Perhaps I should look for the VHS release of ROBIN HOOD?

Another one I'd like to see. I did see it theatrically as a reissue in the late '50s but remember hardly anything about it.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We've been home an hour or so.  I've unpacked, talked to Mom on the phone, and now I'm ready for a nap...

Very interesting!  The weather is much nicer today than yesterday.  Today it is sunny, a little windy, but still sunny.  And yet there are a lot less people heading for the Taste of Tacoma than yesterday.

I see that it's available from various Amazon marketplace sellers at $20

Just finished the first draft of the Follies liner notes.  I'm sure there will be much finessing, and then, as a courtesy, I'll send them to my close personal friend, Mr. Stephen Sondheim, just for fact-checking.

Perhaps a lot of the Sunday crowd will arrive late because of church.

I loved ROBIN HOOD! I didn't realize that Ken Annakin, who directed it and THE SWORD AND THE ROSE, also directed THOSE MAGNIFICENT MEN IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES.  I liked the screenplay by Laurence Edward Watkin, author of the novel ON BORROWED TIME. The cast was wonderful. especially Peter Finch as the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham who gets shafted at every wicked thing he and Prince John attempt to pull off. It has enough wit and adventure to keep everyone happy and just enough romance and nudity for a 12 year-old girl like DR MBarnum to swoon over and make naughty drawings in their diaries.

Now I have to watch the Errol Flynn version again.

I think I will now watch ROB ROY, the third in the Disney series of British adventures, with Richard Todd and Glynis Johns. For all I know, it too is a Ken Annakin movie. Since reading Sir Walter Scott is a nearly impossible task - has anyone read a Scott novel? - I have no idea what the story is about. Tsuris in Scotland, I believe.

Yesterday in the mail, I received a package.  It was the six Clementi Sonatina's in two piano form.  Basically, piano 1 plays the original Sonatina, and piano two plays something that goes along with it. I remember playing a few of these in high school.  So, thanks to the sequencer on my keyboard, I'm able to record both parts and BINGO, piano duet.  I've been futzing with some of these for an hour or so, and they are fun.  I'm hoping to work these up and record them.  My first CD - "Playing with Myself"  ... It should sell, for the title alone.

No, but I drank them on many evenings.
