The whole first season of "Smash" is on NBC.com, so can catch up. I saw the first episode. It was cliched. But some of it worked.

We had dinner on the 4th with the future in-laws of Leslie Odom Jr, the actor who plays Sam on SMASH.  We should rent the show and watch it.

Bruce, the future mother in-law is Maureen Baum.  Larry was also there with his wife.  Ronnie was elsewhere.

Thanks all for the vibes.   I came home today, so hopefully all is quiet on the lake front.

Likewise here about overheard conversations.   I so rarely hear what's being said at other tables.

I am getting so deaf I can barely hear what is being said at my table

Question: Do opossums carry rabies?

Answer: Any mammal can get rabies. However, the chance of rabies in an opossum is EXTREMELY RARE. This may have something to do with the opossum’s low body temperature (94-97º F) making it difficult for the virus to survive in an opossum’s body.

Raccoons are far more likely to carry rabies then an Opossum.  I've seen plenty of them (opossums) both in the day and the night around here where I live.  They are always cute/ugly.  Love the babies--when they are scared they hiss.  I've never had one try to bite me.  They climb up on the dogs cage from time to time and that's when I'll pet their tail.  It wraps around my finger and is surprisingly warm.  Anyway, I like them. :)  I'd be far more scared of a Raccoon.  I would never try to pet one of them in the wild.

Bryan rescued a baby opossum and while he was out it escaped from his room & somehow was walking around the house.  Keith would not pick up the little hisser and made me do it ;D
I've had a couple babies over the years but they have to go when they get older.  They turn mean.

many teenagers are like that - but, gosh!; you really shouldn't have thrown them out of the house!

Finished with my viewing and am listening to a decade old soundtrack release I'm thinking about doing - depends - I'm not thrilled with the sound I'm hearing so I may actually request all elements be pulled and start from scratch.

I then piddled and twiddled with the DVD/BLU player, but the only thing I watched all the way through was

(wait for it)

LURE OF THE SWAMP, for which the thanks goes to DR MBarnum.  I was definitely in the mood for a swamp movie, and I guess it starts more promisingly than it delivers, but damn it all, I enjoyed it to the end.  This could almost be a double-feature companion to Jean Renoir's SWAMP WATER.  Not that I am equating Mr. Hubert Cornfield with M. Jean Renoir.  Actually I just wanted to type the name Cornfield.  But:  Swamp movies.  Possibly my new favorite genre.  Or sub-genre.  Or sub-sub-genre.

DR ChasSmith, glad you enjoyed the movie.

Now that you have a love for swamp films, you really need to see STRANGLER OF THE SWAMP and that Mexican western-horror film SWAMP OF THE LOST MONSTERS. Those should send you over the edge, swamp wise.

And now, I must be off.  I must shower, get dressed and spend the day at my parents' house with my aunt.  I'm sure that we'll play cards or Scrabble or something and then we're going to Applebee's for dinner.  Sounds good to me. :D

Have a good day all!

I just got home from the parents' house.  Dinner at Applebee's was delish (I had their Fiesta Lime Chicken).  We played Phase 10 and Scrabble...and I won both!!  I've only won Scrabble maybe one other time in my life and now I've won twice! :D

We also watched "The Artist."  Both my aunt and my mother really liked it (my dad didn't watch it).
