Morning all!  I as very tired last night.  One of the meds I was taking said it could make you drowsy well, it sure did.

Think I figured out what caused it--the shake called Glucerna.  I thought it would be good for me because of the diabetes but when I read up on it last night, it is know to cause hives, horrible gas, stomach pains, diarrhea and swellings.  I guess I was lucky I got away with what I did.  Needless to say, I will NOT be drinking it any more!

I suppose it wasn't stated in large print.  :(  At least you know the cause of your reaction.

What was the benefit you were supposed to get out of it?
I had decided that I was going to lose weight but I wanted to do it the right way.

Sorry Dani but I firmly believe eating well and exercising is the right way to lose weight.

Back -- from Criterion shopping, Sonic eating (my first), Frappuccino drinking, and driving through some of my favorite Hudson Valley countryside.

Very full.  Which didn't prevent me from perking up when DR Ginny said "Graeter's".

Actually, I've only had a couple of things from there, both of them years ago so I don't know what they have now.  I remember some very nice chocolate chip ice cream, and a cheese danish type of roll, don't know what those were called, but they were delicious.

DR ChasSmith, Graeter's makes several varieties of chocolate chip ice cream and my favorite was toffee chip.  Having to eat heart-healthy has removed that from my diet, but the raspberry sorbet was quite satisfying.  The pastry you had was probably a cheese crown, also no longer part of my diet.

I was  very sad to wake up to the news that my # 1 favorite Bollywood star, Dara Singh passed away today at age 84.

It was news that I was expecting as he had suffered a cardiac arrest on July 7th and I had been following his progress, or lack of, in the news all week. Yesterday his family brought him home so that he could pass away peacefully with his loved ones nearby. Still, it saddens me very much. He was the person I most desired to meet when, and if, I ever get to visit India, and he is one of the main reasons I love old Bollywood movies so much, particularly the "stunt films."

Dara was a professional wrestler who became popular after starring in the hit film KING KONG (1962).

He made mostly action films, including some science fiction, sword and sandal, James Bond/espionage pictures, and mythologicals. Here is a look at some of them.

RIP Dara Singh saab.

I heard about this on NPR on my way home from workand immdiately thought  of you Mike and wondered if you had eer had an opportunity to interview him

Watching the fourth episode of "Smash." I'm surprised at how badly written the show is. And cliched. And still I watch.

I think he's just shown up for the first time, but actually most of the acting (I don't know what Debra Messing is doing) is really good, which may be what keeps me hanging around.

Make of our hands one hand,
Make of our hearts one heart,
Make of our vows one last vow:
Only death will part us now.

MARIA
Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.

BOTH
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart;
Even death won't part us now.

Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart,
Even death won't part us now

which was sung at our wedding

Somebody, hold me too close,
Somebody, hurt me too deep,
Somebody, sit in my chair
And ruin my sleep
And make me aware
Of being alive,
Being alive.

Somebody, need me too much,
Somebody, know me too well,
Somebody, pull me up short
And put me through hell
And give me support
For being alive,
Make me alive.

Make me confused,
Mock me with praise,
Let me be used,
Vary my days.
But alone is alone, not alive.

Somebody, crowd me with love,
Somebody, force me to care,
Somebody, make me come through,
I'll always be there,
As frightened as you,
To help us survive
Being alive,

If there is an exceptionally good episode with him in it please let me know so I can try and watch it.

I gather that means something more than the recent scene where he had to zip up Megan Hilty's dress. Will do.

I think I'll take a little walk - need some exercise after all this printing.  I've gone through two 500 sheet packs of paper.

;D  I think so.  If I happen to meet him in person, which is possible, I prefer to have something more complimentary to say.

Well, it's time for me to go home.  I think I wanted to get something at Costco or Fred Meyer (they're right next to each other here in Tumwater), but I can't think of what I would need.  I hate it when that happens. :P

Anyway, I'll head over there and maybe something'll come to me (bend to me, kiss me, good day...a Brigadoon reference :D).

Be back later!

He has a scene in episode 5 that seems to serve as an introduction to the character, which means more and hopefully better scenes are coming. He's also a good dancer.

Didn't Leslie Odom Jr. sing when they all went to the church in the episode when the show was out of town in "Boston" (filmed I think on Staten Island standing in for Boston) towards the very end of the season)
