The buzz and talk everywhere I go today is of the opening ceremony of the London Olympics.
And not of Romney? Good.

TOD

CD player Turntable - CAROUSEL - studio recording with Alfred Drake and Roberta Peters - which I haven't played yet but it's on the turntable waiting for me.

DVD - EXPERIMENT IN TERROR, which I got halfway through last night before my eyes started closing, but I was loving it.  To be completed this evening.

TOD:

DVD:
Red Lights – Terrific 2004 French thriller from a George Simenon novel starring Jean-Pierre Darroussin and the ever-lovely Carole Bouquet ; the plot of which constantly veers off into unexpected directions. It contains a sudden shock scene which made me physically jump!

Opening night of Dear Edwina Jr was great.  The audience loved it.  Heck, I even loved most of it.  Now I'm off to camp for the last official day.

I appear to be up and have been so since six-thirty.  Overcast outside, but I'm sure it will be sunny soon or, at the very least, soon sunny.

I have not yet decided if I will watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics or not. I love seeing all of the teams from different countries, but I am not sure I want to sit  through all of the spectacle. We shall see.

TOD, cont.

I'm also going to be listening to the "final" audio book version (and note any corrections needed) of ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD: From the Secret Files of Harry Pennypacker, narrated by Scott O'Neill of Seattle.

This will be my first book to have an audio version.

Since people have inquired how I was early this week. It turns out I have a viral infection in the throat, sinuses and chest. Ain't that fun. The meds I hope will clear it up fast

About thirty minutes ago this nice young man from Wave2Wave showed up with my colleague Curtis' phone number as a contact and said he was here to work on the internet. Well, Curtis hasn't shown, the young disconnected the internet and then reconnected it and left. I am puzzled by the whole thing and a bit pissed that of all the various and sundry people on this project with me, only the one in North Carolina has volunteered to come up and help me clean up this mess. I thanked him and I continue to open cartons. Alone.

Color me rather miserable. At least there's AC.

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And I've already been down to The City Bakery for breakfast (yogurt with sour cherries and house made granola, whole wheat croissant and a "Two Tone" (1/2 coffee, 1/2 hot chocolate).

I also made stop at the Union Square Greenmarket for some maple syrup to bring up to Julia Murney's house this weekend, C.O. Bigelow Chemists for some of their shaving cream all Hair & Body Wash (sooo convenient when traveling), and Jack Rabbit Sports for some varied and sundried items.

And now...

~~~~~INFECTION-BE-GONE VIBES TO DR MIKE~~~~~
*That crud has been making the rounds in DC and NYC too. All the rain and humidity has upped the mold counts lately. Lots of allergies turning into sinus infections.
DR elmore - I love P.C. Richard. Great service, and usually great salesman. Depending on your Toyland schedule today, you may want to walk over to their location on 14th Street just east of Union Square. It's a larger location than the one on the UWS, and because of it's proximity to NYU, they tend to carry more of the reasonably priced models there. -And they offer free delivery too.
As for the Friday Media Check...
-Lots of demos for my upcoming projects.
-Various recordings of My Fair Lady. -Does anyone have a "spare" copy of the complete recording on JAY?
-"Carrera" - Guillermo Klein with Los Gauchos - Some pretty incredible jazz inventiveness.
"Let's See What Happens" - Kate Baldwin.
TARNATION!
I caught that right away, but by the time I finished reading the notes and caught up on the late posts from last night and read through the first posts of this morning....
I'd forgotten all about it.
