Well, you've read the notes, the notes welcomed September with a song, and now it is time for you to post until the September cows come home.

We are on Long Island and I'm in the kitchen, not on the patio. They now have real high speed internet so I don't have to go outside to glom onto a signal that isn't their signal.

I set up HBO Go for Ant's mother and updated both computers so all is right with the world.

We're meeting a friend for lunch this afternoon and we're having a Labor Day cookout tomorrow. We head back to NYC on Monday. I have to go out to the driveway and pick up the two papers. Ant's parents still receive printed copies of Daily News and Newsday. Phil will never read a newspaper on line so they still get the papers.

I stopped reading a hard copy of the Times a LONG time ago. For a while I still bought the Sunday paper but not anymore. It's all on line for me.

Good morning, all! I have more things to tote to Toyland this morning, and I will shortly leave here to accomplish that. Once I'm there, I'll spend most of the day working on the Moross score I need to finish.

Tomorrow and Monday are entirely open, and I may spend the days catching up on DVDs. I may get together with Bruce Pomahac on Monday, but it depends on how our weekends go.  His is really busy. I am not and that's fine with me!

Sounds like the show was great and the Cicada Club sounds fantastic.

Yes swing dancing is something that is very popular with the young folks in these parts, too.  It is a LOT of fun....but it takes a LOT of energy for sure.

And here we are at the end of the play.....with several Vicars - real and otherwise - trying to figure everything out....

As you can see, I have recovered my trousers by this time....

About 60 office chairs were delivered to one of my neighbours early this morning. It's a smallish house so I have no idea what they want with all those chairs. I know they haven't got a room big enough to put them all in.

Good morning, all.

Dead tired in spite of a pretty good night's sleep, but it shall be a relaxing and hopefully somewhat productive day around the house, and energy shall be recovered.

DR Jennifer - There are lots of bike racks around NYC. Alas, there are lots of thieves out there with industrial lock snips and hacksaws. Or when they can't break the lock, they break the bike. There are lots of wheel-less bike frames chained to various posts throughout the city. If you look up the price of my bike, you'll understand my "caution".

Oh I didn't even think about people stealing the bikes. Here you could probably leave your bike in a bike rack without a lock and it would probably still be there (although i wouldn't do that).

Wow i didn't even know they sold bikes for $$$. I would definitely carry mine around too.  Although even if it was a regular bike at $150. If someone was going to steal it I would fold it up for sure.

The good thing is that you seem to be getting a lot of use out of it.  I haven't biked as much this summer since I've gone to the pool almost every day. And at least half the times I did go biking it was with my niece. And since i can only go at half speed it doesn't really make me exert much energy.

They're asking for volunteers on the Albany flight - offering a $300 voucher to give up your seat for a later flight.   I wonder if they'll do the same for Buffalo...

TOD:

I'd always felt that I was born 20-30 years too late.  It would have been fun to work in Hollywood during its "Golden Era".

On the other hand, after seeing Woody Allen's MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, one has to wonder if living in an earlier time would be that great.  The faces might have been different, but every era has its own issues.

Perhaps we are better where we are.

Jack, you look fantastic! Is anyone videotaping this production? Hopefully, after the cast has reached funny.
