As if this evening weren't great enough, I came home to a lot of Follies orders - I knew there had to be a reason for it and there is: A lovely review from Playbill's Steve Suskin (you'll find out why he hadn't reviewed it before this): http://www.playbill.com/news/article/169776-ON-THE-RECORD-Follies-Once-More-Original-Cast-Album-Gets-Refreshed

Because Bruce is an old Jew, and must read from a paper at Sterling's Upstairs at the Thing, he's to be forgiven for getting the title of his own song incorrect in tonight's notes. He meant to write "Born Too Late," not "Born to Win." "Born Too Late," of course, was written for the wonderful "What If?" revue and it was recorded by the legendary Guy Haines on Haines' second CD, "New Guy in Town." The song, by any title, was indeed a smash at Sterling's 25 ... as was the entire evening.

Good morning, all.

Congratulations on a great show, BK. Sounds like it was an old-fashioned smash.

Glad to hear that last night performance went so well.

You should record  the Marvin Hamlisch show. I don't think there has ever been an album dedicated to the songs of Mr. Hamlisch. If I may suggest at least one song: "Dreamers" from the musical about Jean Seberg

Having lunch today with an old friend who we haven't seen each other in 18 years! He has temporarily moved down here.

Earlier this week a childhood friend who I probably haven't seen in 35+ years (!!) came into the store. It was a brief reunion and we will try to get together somehow. He lives in Tampa, but travels to my area on business.

Good morning, all! I was up too late and so I slept in this morning. I was having one helluva weird dream, which seemed to be acombination of rehearsals for a chorus concert and a battle ro the death between soldiers. After that, getting out of bed and ponderng the day seemed better options.

After breakfast I will head for a hardware store to purchase paint. I tried to paint my new table last night, but I did not have enough paint. It now sits in the building's basement waiting to be stunning.

Good news about the show last night, BK! I'm happy it went so well.

The Radio Show for Airport Appreciation Days was so much fun last night.

The thing I enjoyed most.....even more than the fine singing, the fun dancing, and the skits.....was the very opening of the show.  As the announcer counted us down to air (we were broadcast over the local college radio station)......the applause sign flashed.....the music started.....a trio of beautiful girls in evening gowns singing "Sentimental Journey"....

AND - the ballroom/space at the airport facility is actually an airplane hanger.....so as we opened the show.....the huge doors were lifted.....the beautiful evening sunset was in view, and there was an original WWII fighter plane there, gleaming in the light....   It was a most memorable moment!!!  Lovely!!!  For those few moments....I really felt transported back in time.....

Once again, a good LATE morning to all.

But what would you expect when one stays up to all hours?  Not that four in the morning is All Hours, but it is certainly Most Hours.

Otherwise...

So far, so good here in Atlanta. I was unexpectedly busier yesterday due to an oversight in the schedule, but everything worked out for the better and still on time.

I had dinner with E&T DR edisaurus and her ever lovin' Greg, as well as drinks with my friend, Tucker, who recently relocated back down here to Atlanta from NYC.

Sunday morning greetings!  Having been awake from about 1:30am to 4:30am, I could not drag myself out of bed at 5:30 to accompany Fr. Richard to Lima.  I slept until just before the service started and have been enjoying coffee and the Sunday papers.  Soon I'll get myself together, go shopping for some groceries, and make another batch of crepes.
