Actually, DR George, the comments on the Herber Collected songs are rather uncomplimentary, and I have no idea how our EILEEN will do. Only DR JohnG gave us a nice review. Most of the negative reviews are reviewing an album we didn't record; there's no sense from the reviewers of Herbert's changing song forms, the beauty of some of the music. In 102 songs, there are some turkeys but there are some glorious melodes, some funny  songs, a few moving numbers,  and performances ranging from poor to brilliant. I am proud that we produced a fun and historic document.

I am aware that two of our singers showed up in pathetic form and I luckily got a chance to only record half of their material and reassign things to others, that I had to replace a singer who dragged me along for too long before I dropped him for another person, and that some folk showed up, delivered the goods and hit the songs out of the ball park. Still, I'm proud of the achievement.

T.O.D.

CD - FOLLIES (revised OBC)
DVD - CASTLE, SEASON TWO

I just saw th pilot for CASTLE on TNT. I had never seen the series. I enjoyed it.

One of our family's favorite series!

Ginny, did you ever see the series FIREFLY?

It is very different from Castle.  You need to like Sci Fi to enjoy it, which we do and did.

It's funny.  I am not a big fan of Sci Fi or of Westerns; and FIREFLY was both.  But I loved the series.

Signing out to go to the Y with Richard and then do some errands - bye for now!

Keith kindly skipped the Y today and went for a short hike with me.  It was nice.

I just saw that Anthony Warlow will be playing Daddy Warbucks in the latest revival of ANNIE that starts previews next week.  I just kind of figured that John Schuck would be playng the role again.  I would like to see Anthony Warlow on stage.

Thanks to a former DR, I believe I have all of Mr. Warlow's CDs.

I love Anthony Warlow! He is wonderful in these DVDs from Opera Australia. The FLEDERMAUS, set in the 1930s, is really charmng.

Maybe I'll watch some of these this weekend! He's also in an Opera Australia video of Gilbert & Sullivan's PATIENCE.

Why did the pictures from Pinafore and Pirates disappear?  Or is that just on my screen?

Mr. Schuck is on tour in the musical version of "Grumpy Old Men" with John Rubenstein.

I really do enjoy those Herbert CDs, Elmore, including the cello and piano works. I haven't listened to the German disc of the song set as much as the other three, but I love that stuff. Maybe it's because I had a George M. Cohan album when I was a kid and all that music from the early part of the 20th century intrigues me.

I'm just saying that because I back up what I wrote on Amazon. In other words, the flattery was sincere for the product and did not stem solely from my pride in your friendship.

Been reading the reviews for "Enemy of the People." Made me remember the Steve McQueen version. I remember liking it as a high school student, even though it was stagebound.

I see Amazon has the DVD. I may have to order it.

It happened because after I posted them, I deleted them from my photobucket album. If this site were still letting us download, they'd be there. I won't delete a photobucket phot again!

Thank you, DR JohnG! I hope at some point we get more positive reviews, but it hasn't happened so far.

DR George I'm glad your sister had a nice birthday.

Thanks, Jane!

Belated Birthday Wishes to DR George's sister!

Thanks, Tom!

Please correct the spelling of your name.  I did.

I don't normally, but for you I did. :-*

I'm now listening to the samples for the Collected Songs.  I'd listen to the actual recording, but that's at home.

The dark green grass is the area that was sprayed with hydroseed.
The path really looks much, much better than it does in the photo.  It must be all the dirt on it.
