I need to research a few problems with my Nook HD. :(   Next week I might go to Best Buy & look at the Mini iPad again.
Sorry to hear that.

Think is, I love the Nook HD except for the Overdrive (library) app.  My complaint on my Nook Color was I could download from the library directly to my Nook when I was traveling, losing the option for the library book.

Now my complaint is I can't transfer a library book to my Nook HD.  The Overdrive app is great on Keith's iPad & problematic on my Nook HD.

Never tried to make a pie crust -- except maybe I did make a graham cracker one once for some key lime pie.  I know a freshly homemade one can be really good, but I don't think there's such a difference that it would be worth wrecking my day (and the effort would surely wreck a good day) for one.

I think it's more a matter of practice than anything. I hate doing it, but I hate it less and less each time I do it. Plus, someone gave me a realy easy food processor recipe that seems to work well. So, I just have to do it a few times and get in my muscle memory, I guess.

:)

I prefer making a graham cracker crust or a cookie crust.  Both get patted into the pan instead of rolling them.  They are both on the sweet side though & don't work for every pie.

This has got to be the worst pumpking pie I have ever tasted.  I would have done better with a Mrs. Smith frozen pie - even if I had eaten it frozen!

Amazon just wrote back that they are sending a second shipment via overnight delivery for Monday at No Charge and forwarding my complaint about the delivery service to their shipping dept. Fantastic!

I have had 3000 mg of vitamin-C, and it's time for some peppermint tea, not chrysanthemum.

Do you have any zinc for your cold?

Good for Amazon!

I take zinc every day.

Try upping the dosage for the cold.  If you take tablets it is best if you dissolve them under your tongue.

I used to make fantastic pie crust! So did my mother on her saner days, so maybe it's genetic.

Why have you stopped?

I am trying to finish a really good book. It is the last book in a trilogy (it's a dystopian and the final book is called Reached). But my nieces are here. And everytime I get to a good part one of them runs in and wants to play.

I will have to finish it tonight!

;D

I feel very guilty about my lack of patience with my young children when I was nearing the end of a book.

I finished the book after they left. I actually started reading the new Ivy & Bean book to my niece. She really likes them. Hopefully we will finish it tomorrow. Then at least I can include it on my goodreads list. Since it's 125 pages I think it's okay to include a kid's book.

I think you should include reviews of any children's book.

Hector "Macho" Camacho has passed away.   They took him off of life support and he died a short time later.

That is always such a tough decision to mke.  I hopeI never have to go through that again.

I expect reading about it brings back unpleasant emotions.

DR Cilla when you mentioned putting a gown, etc on I thought it was for Sharon's protection.  I didn't imagine she would still be contagious  :o

I hope the friend who feinted won't stay away for good.  Obviously you have a stronger disposition ;)
I'm very excited for you finally getting to see her.

Sharon's attitude it fantastic.  I'm sure she also has her dark moments as well.  Will this upcoming surgery be her last?  I hope so.

VIBES SHE WILL GO TO A TOP NOTCH REHAB HOSPITAL!!

Sharon looks fine and is very modest so the girl who fainted didn't see anything, she just heard about it.  That's pretty squeemish if you ask me

LOL.  I didn't think she had seen anything.  It is extremely squeamish.

I am very squeemish when people tell me about things like that.  I have never fainted, but I have gotten a little dizzy.  Strangely when it is something on my own body, like when I almost lost my right leg to the MRSA, I am not squeemish at all.

That's good since it was on your body.

When the pets have had surgeries I've been fine except for the shaving part.  Funny that bother's me far more than stitches, bone sticking out, etc.

Two Kentucky transparent pies in the oven. After they're done, I think I'm going to go out dancing. Haven't done that in a while.

I hope there will be photos later.

Have fun dancing.

I must say, that gal who feinted at the hospital must have been very brave to go in the first place.  She must know how sensitive she is.

I meant to include in my book total for the year. I read so many kids books. But many are 15-30 pages. So i don't count those ones. Only the bigger books that are 70+ pages.

Damn! Channel 13 must be on a fund raising week,  so no British comedies tonight.

What are they showing instead?  Another Celtic Thunder performance?

No, and I know one of the guys in Celtic Thunder! It's a Doo-wop night.

It is indeed a pledge night. They're giving the hard sell on the break at the moment.  I swear, Channel 13 has one of these drives every month.

I am not sure that I know what a Doo-wop group is like.  Personally, I love Celtic Thunder.  If I wasn't in this stupid chair, I would be going to their concert this week.

Also, the Earls, The Diamonds, The Edsels, The Mystics, the Moonglows. On Channel 13, I just heard "On Broadway" and "Up on the Roof."

Who do you know in Celtic Thunder?

Paul Byrum. He's no longer with them.

True, but the worst of it was on the back of my leg.  That was the part that looked like aligator skin.  So, I really had to make an effort to see how bad it was.  But I had to focus on it when the A-hole ER doctor didn't want to know what I knew was wrong, because I was just the stupid patient.

I didn't know that Trader Joe's was 30 minutes away.  Besides, you don't have to ask the person taking you to therapy to make a side trip so I can return my nasty pumpkin pie.

I am interested in the transparent pie. Mostly, I am interested in the pecan pie filling without the pecans.
