It was Susan Luckey who passed away.

I cannot imagine her as being 74!   RIP, Susan Luckey!

The article said she was best known for THE MUSIC MAN.  I suppose her role was larger iin that film, but I always liked her best in CAROUSEL  Of course, if you watch the clip from CAROUSEL, at the end you can click on the Graduation Scene.  So, I watched it (of course) and I cried (of course).

SURPRISE!!!

It sounds like a wonderful time was had by all.....and cooperation made it possible!!

Yes hopefully we will see more photos.

Thanks for the clip DR MIKE.  I remember seeing some of that "special" and thinking Merman sure was OLD to play Annie Oakley....I was used to Gail Davis.

Merman was OLD to carry the tablets for Moses!

I'm up - and have been for quite a while.  Been shooting off emails, dealing with stage managers, planning Liturgy, etc.  Funny how time flies by when you're sitting at your computer.

On that note, (a ALW D-flat) has anyone here made an mp3 of the movie version of "Scrooge" with Alfred Finney that they might want to share?  If not, well, then that's ok.  One of these days, I'll sit down with the DVD and rip a soundtrack recording, but for now, I'm being lazy and just really want to hear it.

I think I have the album,  but I have no idea how to shift it over to an mp3.

There was a CD of the London stage version of the movie, but I don't have it. (I know, that doesn't help much, does it?)

The British stage version starring Anthony Newley has about four additional songs, all of them sung by Scrooge.  When I was cast as Scrooge, I had no idea how many additional songs I had to learn that weren't in the film.

My old co back in the old days was very prosperous -  every August they threw a big party for the office at the Yacht club in Huntington where they had an all you could eat  buffet....featuring trays and trays of whole steamed lobsters, a raw bar, burgers, franks, sausages, steak....one year the party fell on my birthday --- my 40th birthday in fact!!

Now that was a celebration!

When I was in high school I went to a month long music camp and was there on my birthday.  My parents sent a cake.  My room mate got me a cake, the RA in my dorm got me a cake and some friends at camp got me a cake.  I had 4 birthday cakes!!!  It got to be funny and I had a great time sharing with every one

Yes, I believe Mr. Robards mentioned that in his autobiography.

It opened Mid November.  It's a limited run and was just extended to March 10.  I'm still hoping to go see it.
