Sunday afternoon greetings! We are back from a rainy, foggy drive to and from Lima. Today it was my turn to provide refreshments, so I used some Pepperidge Farm coupons that were sent to me as a result of a customer service call about a defective product. We had lemon cake, coconut cake, and assorted holiday cookies. Also grapes and a mixture of unsalted roasted cashews and almonds.

Well, DR Jane, it takes a little will power. I had just some grapes and nuts and 2 small cookies. No cake, except for what I scraped off the serving plate as I was cleaning up.

Today's service really wore Fr. Richard out because his up front assistant called in sick. Richard usually gets a little respite during the scripture readings.

I'm not sure. Not that much. It was day old so it was half price. I think they are about $2.50 for 6 that way.

I am home from the opera and the market. I'll cook tomorrow.

The opera production was quite wonderful with an excellent student cast. The orchestra played beautifully, and I had a fantastic time. I sat next to an acquaintance I find quite peculiar and don't care much for. I did see my longtime friend Charles whom I don't get to see often enough and John Graziano, a wonderful gentleman.

Tonight we are supposed to get our first big snow. Hope it's not too much. And i hope it melts fast. I like wearing my shoes (which I have been all but one or two days so far).
