Merry Christmas morning greetings!  Richard and I are both stirring and it looks like Santa has been to our house:

Hmmm, I wonder which stocking belongs to DR Ginny ;)

I'm sorry but I suppose it is your best option, unless you can spend time training this sitter how you get the pills down Callie.

Went to my aunt's last night for Christmas eve. My nieces really lucked out this year. They got a lot of stuff for Chanukah. They got a lot of stuff last night. And they got a lot of stuff this morning.

It is fun when you celebrate both holidays.  I did growing up as did our children.

Richard surprised me with a beautiful sparkly necklace and a custom-made Michigan apron to go along with my iPad Mini!
Yes, Bruce's annual Christmas Eve party really was the best do ever! The gatherings around the piano were so fabulous that Barry Pearl and others commented that Bruce should have the party in that room every year, so I'm glad Bruce mentioned that plan in his notes already. Not only was the music and singing great, but the stories were so great too. Not only did Richard Sherman sing "Feed the Birds", but he told this great story about how he sang that song at Walt Disney's 100th celebration because that was Walt's favorite song, and he sat at the piano outdoors and sang that song in front of a large crowd and just as he finished, a bird swooped down and almost collided into the piano. Everyone gasped. Richard was unaware of what happened, but was later told that Walt said, "thank you" for the song.
I've been walking around the house singing Bruce's Jewish Christmas song, "This Christmas" all week, so I was very delighted that he played and sang it for us live in his living room.
The food was all really great and I ate waaaay too much. After last year's fiasco of driving all the way to the House of Pies and being told there was none, we did the smart thing and ordered it ahead of time. It was a big hit and a couple people came up to me and asked if I had any because I really should try it. They didn't know I was the one who brought it, which was commical. What's more commical is that our GPS tries to prononce "pies" phonetically and the computer voice always says, "arriving at House of Peas on your left". Mark and I laugh out loud every time she says "House of Peas". Anyway, we almost didn't have any peanut butter pie and Bruce almost ended up with no house at all when Mark spotted Bruce dashing out the back door with a burned up box. Apparently, someone took the pie out of the box and placed it next to the lit candles on the serving table and the box caught on fire. I was horrified that we could have been responsible for Bruce's house burning down. Surely, he would never invite us again, if that happened. Mark says he thinks something caught on fire last year, and he suggests Bruce not put lit candles on the table anymore.

I enjoyed your description of the evening and must agree with you about the candles.

Nice to hear another report about the party.

I am always afraid to leave candles burning while in another room. At Chanukah when the kids were there we ended up snuffing them out after 5 minutes.

I still snuff mine out even though we no longer have cats jumping up next to the candles.

Hello!  I'm home.  After hearing the whole story, I am actually quite impressed with the way Boo was defending Callie from what she perceived as a danger.   Boo attacked the cat sitter last night. Then the sitter took off her glasses to check her scratches...Boo knoced her glasses behind a chest of drawers.  Today when the sitter arrived and put Ricky and Boo in the kitchen, shut the doors and went upstairs to get Callie, Callie started hissing and Boo managed to get out and run up stairs and started hissing again.  Seriously, impressive although I'm not pleased about it.

Wow! and sweet too.  I'm sorry you had to return home early.

On the positive side.  We really did our family Christmas last weekend.  Mom and dad and I exchanged gifts last night, I played my flute and sang with the choir (both mom and dad are in the choir) at the late service at church and we had fun putting a jigsaw puzzle together yesterday afternoon.   I also saw my brother and his wife.  So, it was still a very nice Christmas even if it was cut short.

Toby cries like a baby when we pass by any yard with a dog in it.  It's most embarrassing.

I think it is cute.  Sherlock always alerted us, with his whimpering, when there was a dog nearby  before we saw it.

DR Jennifer I wrap some gifts for the stockings & not others.  It really depends on how they will fit into the stocking.  The ones sticking out the top are definitely wrapped.

If I hadn't heard the whole thing on the phone I wouldn't have believed it was this bad.  This cat sitter has worked with animals for 20 years. She said my cats are the exception not the rule lol. So from now on  Callie will be boarded

I'm sorry but I suppose it is your best option, unless you can spend time training this sitter how you get the pills down Callie.
Oh it's not giving the medication, it's picking Callie up,

Not by the cat sitter, well, she could have, but Callie was upset and Boo attacked her when she was picking Callie up, so she decided not to push her and add more trauma.  I'm very happy about her decision.

Trying to watch a motion picture, but I had to wrap a couple of gifts, and do other stuff, so I'm afraid movie watching will have to wait until later because now I must watch footage and take notes.

I enjoyed LES MIZ most heartily, and while I understand the criticisms in the reviews....I think the near pans are a bit off the mark.

As DR DRUXY wrote.....I too was most impressed by Samantha Barks as Eponine.....and Anne Hathaway certainly is a lovely Fantine.  Jackman and Crowe are very good.  I liked the movie a LOT - if you are a fan of the music and/or stage play, you will probably enjoy the movie......

I had thought the issue was getting the meds down her knowing how difficult that can be for people.  Not being able to pick her up, and then Boo's reaction (too funny really)....smart sitter to not push it and to call you instead.

Thinking about it, the cats grew up with Sharon which made a difference.  This sitter would need to spend more time at your house getting them used to her.  I feel for you.

Our difficult grand dog has a neighbor he likes that goes in and walks him when Craig can't.  The neighbor will be watching Yogi when Craig is at the wedding in Cozumel.  :)  It's nice to have good neighbor's.  Craig & Yogi have spent most of the day next door watching a BATMAN (C. Bale) marathon.  Craig called after a break to walk Yogi, feed & spend time with Kitty, and to cook dinner.  The neighbor is recovering from a hernia operation so Craig has been helping him out.  He will take dinner next door to eat while they watch the last movie.

The world’s largest Christmas tree display rises up the slopes of Monte Ingino in Italy’s Umbria region. Composed of about 500 lights connected by 40,000 feet of wire, the ‘tree’ is a modern marvel for an ancient city.

The family get-together at my sister's house is done with.  My niece's other grandmother and aunt were there.  It's funny that by the time my sister and her now-ex-husband got a divorce (almost 20 years ago), his parents and my parents had become friends and they stayed friends even after their kids divorced. :)
