My PBS station is showing a movie called SOLDIER IN THE RAIN with Jackie Gleason and Steve McQueen.  I don't think I have ever heard of it before.

The movie was apparently released five days after President Kennedy was assassinated.  That could be why I never heard of it.

Maybe you and BK and I should work on that.  Or perhaps Paul Simon would be interested.

I always thought I was born in the Eisenhower era.  It was only about ten years ago that I realized that I was actually born in the Truman era.

I clearly remember  JFK's death when I was in 1st grade, and RFK, MLK I guess I was in 5th or 6th -  Watergate was my junior year of high school  - and NIxon resigned  a couple of weeks before I started my senior year of high school -

I went to ARGO tonight.   The hostages were taken in Iran during the fall of my freshman year in college. At the time I had a friend from Iran and the director of our dorm was from Iran.  It was a very strange time.  Lots of apathy.

It really angers me that the family of one of the children who survived Sandy Hook is suing for 100 million dollars.  The child was naturally affected by the shooting, but one hundred million??

I loved ARGO, btw.  Even knowing how it turned out, I was really caught up in the suspense.  Near the end of the film a guy behind me let out a big sigh like he had been holding his breath for at least 5 minutes

Very true.  Did they ever solve that case about the young friend of the vixter's who was murdered?

I believe they said the school district for not offering enough protection for the children.

no -   or if it was it was not publicized -   we do not see his family very often any more as his mother now lives in another town
