Happy New Year's Eve!   I had a wonderful afternoon and got to meet 5 great kids that I helped come to the USA from Somalia via Kenya.   They gave me thank you cards and a beautiful shawl/scarf.  We all met at an ice cream shop and had a great time.  They are some of the nicest and most polite kids (4th grade-10th grade) that I've ever met.  It was a joy to spend time with them

That sounds wonderful!

It's been a wild ride this year.

I'm looking forward to 2013.

I'm also going to record CNN with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin!  They're so much fun together.  I can't wait to see what happens between them this year. ;)

I need to check the CNN site to see what time they are on at. My tv's listings doesn't show anything.

It is very cold here. And the temps are supposed to be extremely cold tonight and tomorrow. :(

I went to Costco today. And had lunch there. You can't be at hot dog and a drink for $1.50.

Hi Jane.

Just hanging out with the boyfriend.

And watching Matt Helm movies.

I love Dean Martin.   The movies from the 60's are so much fun.

Will try to stay awake till midnight.

Then he has to pickup his son after midnight.     8)

Meat is in the oven.  Everything else is ready so when the meat comes out, other things can go in in some sort of order.  The DP has failed to start serving the cocktails, which is no surprise to me.  (trying to remember why I'm making this dinner....)

Finally finished the recent Broadway Radio Show. It seems I have a lot of CD buying to do. I only had three of the top 10 CDs and only one of the runners-up.

Do you make pitchers of these and serve them?  It isn't something Keith or I drink so I'm not familiar with it.  I believe they are served like martini's.

How many people do you have there?

Not doing anything tonight. Just staying at home, so no people in my messy home.

I read an article on gin recently and its easy recipe was half gin, half Rose's Lime Juice. I'm having a double. To start with.

Why copy editors are needed. The following is from an about.com article:

"Helmed by Tony winner Kathleen Turner, Nice Work If You Can Get It is a collection of the Gershwins music strung together with a plot straight out of a zany 1930's romantic comedy romp."

I don't like gin.  I did have a 15 year old scotch at dinner Friday night.

I like scotch, too, but gin is more summery, so it's more appropriate for here. And I needed a feel of summer today.  It was misty in the morning, which was beautiful, but it has turned to rain. Not really cold, but wet and depressing.

By the way, some nice soul gave me a bottle of 12-year-old Abelour Scotch this afternoon. Will investigate in a day or two.
