What a sad, sweet movie "Under the Roofs of Paris" is. Nothing like the musicals coming out of Hollywood at the same time.

I don't recall having peanut butter sandwiches in my lunches when I was a kid. And never tuna fish.

Was DR Chas here when HHW introduced the cherpumple to the public? After all, it's not exactly well known.

No.  I'm only picking up on the thing this very week.

Yes, meatloaf - my mother made a great meatloaf and those were lunchtime sandwiches I loved.  I haven't had a meatloaf meal in, I don't know, thirty years.

For those who care:

The best part is the big thud it makes when it lands on the plate.

I ate nothing but grape jelly for years.  It was only much later that I discovered boysenberry jelly, which I loved, and then cherry jelly, which I also enjoy.

I make a nice meatloaf (if I do say so myself)-  and the Vixter does a good job too

I hadn't had in ages, until I made it for dinner tonight.

My mother's meatloaf was one of the three or four best things she ever made.  I have the recipe somewhere, and made it once.  It's all beef, not a mixture.

Interesting, too, how leftover meatloaf sandwiches call for plain old white bread.

I will occasionally make a meal out of multiple pieces of rye toast with butter and various jellies - or English Muffins with butter and various jellies.  I'm getting hungry now.

IIRC, we had some photos once of the whole cherpumple process. Quite interesting.

I LOVE meatloaf. One of the things I miss most about the cholesterol diet.

Yes, all beef in our house.  I only remember her mashing up the ground beef with egg - she'd put some onions in, and ketchup, too, I think - certainly on the top.  I should make it one of these days.  I really think that's all she did to it.

What a partay - this is one of our best.  I'd imagine elmore is still eating his chili, being a curmudgeon about something, and perhaps drinking soda water.

I like different kinds of jellies -  especially on  a nice toasted  Ritz cracker witha dab of cream cheese on it
