And now, I must be leaving. Tonight, Theater Artists Olympia is having their callbacks for the female version of "Reservoir Dogs." I made some copies of the script so that the auditioners can have something to audition with, so I need to be there. I'll stay for a while and see how it goes.

I've been following a story on facebook which I shared for my Portland friends. Saturday night a women went into a restaurant for dinner leaving her little dog in a crate in her car. Good news about the dog! It could've been so much worse.

From the various sightings of him they suspected he was staying away from loud noises after the crash which is my guess why he wasn't hit by a car.

We watched the show when it was first on. Dallas was good as Kyle but the show didn't hold our attention for too long.

Well, it took me a few days to get back to it, but I watched the second half of BELOVED INFIDEL tonight, and loved it. Before starting this post, I went back and reread BK's notes about it, so to make a short post shorter, I'll just say I agree. On every point. It is such a total pleasure, not to mention an honor and a privilege, to spin these beautiful Blu-rays and be able to return to the golden age of the '50s/'60s.

I was amazed at how much I accepted and liked California Adventure. I never saw it in its first incarnation, but it's certainly a fine place now. Disneyland itself is still wonderful. I certainly miss a few things they've dropped or changed radically, and a few old favorite areas were closed for maintenance or renovation the day I was there, but with few reservations, I am happy to say that, all in all, the current state of things met with my approval.

I have always been curious about California Adventure. It didn't exist yet the last time I was at Disneyland. Wow, it must be about 30 years since I was there.

When my niece was eight or nine, my sister and I decided to take her down to Disneyland. We had such wonderful memories of the park that we wanted to watch my niece have the same experience. After about a half day at the big "D" my niece told us she was bored, and asked if we couldn't go back to that other cool park, Knott's Berry Farm, that we had gone to the day before.

Crazy day spent mostly in the editing room. I only got one page written after finessing and then I had to go. Four hours in the editing room, trying to shorten the mammoth 9:30 piece down to a more reasonable running time. Funnily, it didn't seem long at the long length. I was brutal in the set-up scene, removing a lot of Stephen Findle superfluous lines, dropping one audition completely, and just getting the others to their essence. Most of the time came from that section - I also cut the opening verse of the final song and that plays better that way. So, running time is now just at eight minutes. Watching it again just now I felt we may have cut the first audition too tight so I think we'll put back the two lines of dialogue we cut that follow it, then I may remove one more very short audition, and I'm going to cut one more line at the end of the audition sequence. So, it will still be eight minutes, but it moves right along and I think I'll be fine with it.

I had a sandwich for dinner. Then I wrote about four more pages - not nearly enough today, so I'm now going to watch one or two episodes of The Killing and then write for another ninety minutes. I should be able to do at least four to six more pages.

I wrote about The Impossible right after I'd seen it several weeks ago - I liked most of it very much. The director was one of the five that I voted for today.

Hmmm, so some day we are going to have to buy the Director's Cut to find out what you cut.

Home finally after 2 1/2 hours of intensive dance classes. Body still aches, but it seems to enjoy the exercise.

There's a reason they call the fox trot the "f" dance, though. Every time I take a class, they change the rules on me. I guess I just need to take more classes.

I'm watching the last half hour off "Jiro Dreams of Sushi." Jiro is 85 years old and the passion he shows for his work is astounding. He is the master of his craft, the only Japanese sushi chef to merit a three-star Michelin rating, and yet he talks about another chef who, he says, is better and how much he'd love to be that good. He's ever working at becoming better. And I admire that.

And, yes, he does dream of sushi.
