Jane, I haven't borrowed or lent on Nook, so if I did get a notice, I may not have understood it.

When you get a chance browse my books & see if there is something of interest, or try borrowing something just to try it.  You need to go into Nook friends and then "lend me".

The book is told from the horse's point of view.  The movie just couldn't do that

Well, I'm off.  Tonight is Theater Artists Olympia's monthly board meeting.  One of our board members has to step down (personal reasons) and we'll have to decide what to do.  I think someone has already volunteered to take over, so it may be okay.

Until later!

I attempted to post a laugh over the horse not talking in the movie, only I can't post.  I shall try again without quoting and say....

DR Cilla it just dawned on me.... I bet B & N sent me the email because the time had run out for you to respond to my request.  Of course they didn't suggest I try again, only that I purchase the book.

Tuesday evening greetings!  We are being treated royally here at Norwich Cathedral.  Our days start at 7:30 am and end about 9pm.  Exhausting, but worth it.  Some photos on my Facebook, but I don't think I can post them here with my iPad.

I hope it isn't lights out at 9 p.m.

All of you people who somehow, inexplicably, have managed to never see CHINATOWN can do their penance by sending me some more swamp movies.

Be careful what you wish for..................

I have already compiled a list of titles to send.

Poor Chas!

DR ChasSmith, did I send you a copy of the film that this musical number is from?

Believe it or don't, but the lead dancer in this clip is one of my Facebook friends now  ;D

I would have expected it to be the guy singing.

I believe my sister made Harper's outfit, by the way.

I'm impressed.  Not only does she have talent but she has good taste.

Why Jane, are you thinking that the dress might fit you?

The DP(sic)'s mom leaves tonight.  I'll miss her as we had some good times.  We cooked her macaroni casserole this eve.  Actually, I cooked it, she showed me how.  It's awesome.  I don't know what will happen tomorrow.  I suppose tomorrow will tell.

I'm sorry, Matthew. Hugs and vibes that whatever happens goes well.

I actually watched all of it. :)

Does the B in Bollywood stand for anything?

B= Bombay, which is the center of the Hindi film industry in India (although Bombay is now called Mumbai).

This particular number, however, is from Kannada language film. I think Kannada films are called Sandalwood.

Watched "Nightmare Alley" with Tyrone Power and Joan Blondell tonight at friends' house (I think it was my rest on the way home). I almost fell asleep once or twice, but I loved the script. Every time you thought you knew where you were being led, some nice twist occurred.

Bonnie thought that Tyrone looked a lot like George Clooney, and I sort of agreed. While George is the better actor, Tyrone used his eyes to suggest madness quite well.

Lucky that Dehi isn't the capital, or Dolly Parton would have an entire film empire named after her.

Well, they probably don't want to encourage people to keep asking if the person doesn't want to lend the book.  Not sure why you wouldn't want to but...
