I finessed, which took about an hour because I made a lot of little changes and added a few things.  Then I took a shower to kick start the inspiration part, got a way to start the new chapter that I liked and wrote three pages.  All subsequent pages will have to be written when I get back around five.  I should be able to do at least five to seven more, and if I'm feeling industrious I'll try to finish the current chapter - I know exactly how it ends so that's nice.

What the....

I accidentally deleted my post.  What I said was that I also love movie and even TV studios for the look and feel of the original parts of their structures, whether Art Deco or Mid-Century.

Well, I'm now on a Z-Pak and Mucinex DM.  In addition to a sinus infection, I have conjunctivitis in my left eye  :P

And if you were a horse, you'd be a can of dogfood.

LOL, that's kind of what I feel like, DR Elmore!

Were any of you Ohio or Midwestern types around Columbus enough in earlier years to remember the rendering plant near I-71 (or whatever the original highway was) and Frank Road on the south side of town?  You could smell it for a couple of miles in either direction.

A childhood memory.  Made those trips to and from Cincinnati just a little special.

"Maria Stuarda" was a wonderful opera.  I'm amazed at the technology.  I was able to text a friend of mine that was at the performance as it was being simulcast.  This might get me to more opera, even if it is in a movie theatre.  They filled in a lot of blanks during intermission with interviews and such.  Next is a production of "Rigoletto" which is set in Las Vegas.  I think I'm going to try and get there also.

DR Jennifer, the only problem with an e-reader is that they make you turn them off during take-off and landing.  I had only my iPad and found it frustrating to have to stow it during those times.  In the future, I will have at least one dead-tree book or a couple of my own magazines.

But they would only make you turn it off for a few minutes right? Not for the full 5 hours?  To turn off a kindle is really nothing.

They were very accommodating about keeping us comfortable and entertained.  In the 5 hours we had 2 or 3 false alarms when we had to do tha take-off routine.

Thanks for the vibes!

One of my co-workers is leaving after almost 10 years.
I want to give a little gift. I want to make a cd of "Good-bye" songs.

This is what I have so far

Be Back Soon (Oliver)
So Long Dearie (Hello, Dolly)
So Long Farewell (The Sound of Music)
As If We Never Said Goodbye (Sunset Blvd)
Don't Like Goodbyes (House of Flowers)
Goodbye For Now (Reds)
Goodbye (The Producers)
We Musn't Say Goodbye (Stagedoor Canteen)
The Promise (I'll Never Say Goodbye)

Most of these are gut wrenching ballads. I need some upbeat songs. Any suggestions?
No Goodbyes from Over Here!
Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye (Seven Lively Arts)

Cocktail conference is going strong, but I'm beginning to fade a little. Got home at around 2 this morning to discover the internet connection was down. Will catch up later.

Well, the reviews for Mr Ashford's "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" continue to be moderate to lousy.

Regarding the tarmac, I was stuck once for three hours. I can sit quietly without a problem, but our staff was not at all accommodating. I'm not sure what the regs are, but we were not permitted to use the bathrooms. Nor were we able to get anything to drink. Maybe they thought by not allowing us drinks we wouldn't want the bathrooms?? We were not  given the option to leave the plane. Things may have changed for the better since, but there really needs to be a better way to handle things.

Our weather has gone from unseasonably cold to unseasonably warm It's about 80 today, if not higher. My body is in climate shock.
