I loved seeing all of DR GINNY's London photos yesterday.  Most excellent!

Hearing GOOD singers vibes for MR BK....hopefully it won't be ALL American Idol yowling and growling and sliding all of over the place.....until 30 seconds into the song when there is a key change and then the screaming starts....

One thing that ALWAYS bothered me about the Mary Martin PETER PAN.....besides Mary Martin.....is that she comes looking for her shadow....and before she finds it....her shadow is over the wall of the room.....

As regards today's notes, I must admit that I do play video games now and again. I particularly like games where I can go around killing Nazis! I did try a Sims game once but soon gave up, finding it pointless and boring. I also still enjoy playing board games like Monopoly at Christmas.

Good morning, all! It's is warmer today, and I am very happy for that fact.

I did not go to the reading last night. At 7:00, it was too cold, my shoulder ached too much, and I was too uncomfortable to take several different subways down to City Hall and wander about Park Row until I found the correct building.I had no idea how long the trek would take and my mood would not have been one to enjoy a new work. I owed my friend Peter more than that.

I had dinner, watched the oriignal 1962 BBC telecast of the Royal Ballet in Frederick Ashton's La Fille Mal Gardée with the original cast. It's a wonderful, funny ballet with a charming score, and it cheered me up. David Blair, Stanley Hlden, and Nadia Nerina were excellent, and at the end of the storm Alexander Grant as the simpleton-fiance is flown off with his umbrella, so we had a bit of Peter Pan and Mary Poppinfs to close the act. Very funny.

Today, I will clean house and work a bit on liner norws for DEAREST ENEMY.

DR George, I worked with Stephen Terrell at Goodspeed on REDHEAD. You have more pleasant memories of him than I do.

There's nothing wrong with playing board games or any other games every now and then.  But The Sims players, at least many of them, become obsessed with the world they create and the family and the story.  The write fan fiction (another curious thing), pages and pages of it, and have their own Sims discussion boards online where they are the only ones posting - it's curious.

Watching one of the biggest pieces of jaw-dropping pieces of WTF ever captured on celluloid, Al Jolson in blackface singing "Goin' to Heaven on a Mule."

Here's an excerpt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jIVuuNcg3w

Question:  If WHV can release WONDER BAR onto DVD with the "Heaven on a Mule" sequence, why can't Disney release SONG OF THE SOUTH?

I've wondered about that in regard to the "Abraham" sequence in HOLIDAY INN.

I am very grateful to NBC for 4 hours of figure skating this afternoon - show from 1-3, competition from 3-5.

Yes I watched the ladies free skate live last night.....and would have reversed the first and second place skaters.....but unfortunately, Gracie Gold had such a poor short program that it was impossible for her to catch Ashley What'shername....who fell on her backside TWICE during the free skate....and still got first place.

here is another un PC scene from WHOOPEE with Eddie Cantor. The set up he was hiding in an oven and it blows up. The Sherrif is looking for a white man. Since he has black on his face he gets away.

Also in the film is Ethel Shutta who years later was in the original Follies belting Broadway Baby

http://youtu.be/sJac0oo_GE8
I will have to watch that in its entirety. What's interesting is that Fifi D'Orsay, in the same "Follies" sequence with Ethel, was in "Wonder Bar."

I watched a cute dvd from the library this morning. It was with Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake. It's called Trouble With the Curve.

My library finally got the US version of the GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. I am looking forward to seeing how it compares to the Swedish movie.

Trying out a Crock-Pot recipe for pulled pork made with a spice mix from Crock-Pot. It's been on for a few hours and the house is filled with the most wonderful aromas.
