Watching "The Road to El Dorado" animated movie with Tim Rice and Elton John songs, and Kevin Kline and Kenneth Branaugh voices. Never saw this before, realizing why and it goes along.

Trying out a Crock-Pot recipe for pulled pork made with a spice mix from Crock-Pot. It's been on for a few hours and the house is filled with the most wonderful aromas.

DR JohnG - I've made that several times, never disapoints!!!

From DR Cilla:

My mom gave me a Crazy Cat Lady sign years ago.

I could have had one since I was 18.  After I worked my way up to my dream of 4 cats I remembered the saying, "Be careful what you wish for". ;D

We watched COMPLIANCE last night.

An excellent, albeit disturbing, film.

Ann Dowd, as well as the rest of the cast, is terrific.

Delighted that ARGO won the Producers' Guild Award last night as Best Picture.

Sunday morning greetings!  Fr. Richard is on his way to Lima, but told them earlier in the week that I would not be there today.

I figured you wouldn't go.  I hope you are feeling better today.

Elmore, how was "I Capture the Castle"? I love that book.

Unfortunately it isn't available as an eBook.

Watching one of the biggest pieces of jaw-dropping pieces of WTF ever captured on celluloid, Al Jolson in blackface singing "Goin' to Heaven on a Mule."

Here's an excerpt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jIVuuNcg3w

Wow! I know it's a different time and I've heard all the arguments, but Wow!!!

As a child I was fascinated, as in can't turn my eyes away from an accident fascinated, with black face.  Even blacks put on black face  :o

That was something. But all I could think about that it must have taken a long time in makeup to get all the people in blackface, that there were a lot of yound children and that Al read a Hebrew newspaper.

I tried to post the picture but for some reason it just wouldn't work.

It looks like a cute game.

Thanks, DR Jane.  A little better, but I'm glad to have a previously-scheduled appointment with my doctor on Tuesday.  Otherwise, I'd have tried to see him on Friday, because my ears are still plugged up and the right one hurts.

I agree, DR JRand!  There sure were a lot of empty seats in that arena...

I finished my first draft of DEAREST ENEMY history, and now I have some tidying up to do. The temperature has dropped quite a bit: it's suddenly freezing in here, and I am starving. I did not make my planned trip to the bank, so I will do that tomorrow morning on my way to Toyland.

So, what's for dinner?

Yes....yes there were.  I think DR JANE is right....there is not much of an audience for skating anymore.....maybe come February and the Winter Olympics, that will change.

It does taste good. But there is a lot of liquid in the pot.

What cut, or whatever, are you using for the pork?  Or did you go out on the farm and pull some yourself?

Wash them on gentle in the washing machine.  I turn them inside out and put them in mesh lingerie bags.  Also, adding a quarter cup of white vinegar sets the colors.  Hang to dry.

I spent some time this morning going through my closet, as several garments that had been tight are now quite comfortable. "Ooh, this fits," or "Not yet." Some of my jeans are positively baggy now, giving new meaning to the phrase "Big happy pants."
