This is also our Super Sock Sunday - we collected new white tube socks to give to homeless - this year we had 304 pairs - and a number of people told me they forgot them at home and would bring them next week

Our annual meeting went quite well - everyone was in agreement - and we voted to move forward with getting a associate Pastor. There is a candidate that was approved by a search committee and now that the budget was approved we can move ahead- The Council will meet the candidate on Tuesday and if we all agree then the candidate will preach in a couple of weeks time and go before the congregation for a vote

and the ticket sales for this year's chili contest began today - this year's theme is US Presidents - we have to decorate our booths - I was first in and got Lincoln - there are 11 other cooks signed up already

The night before the wedding the father of the groom hosted a nice dinner and party on the beach. I almost fell over dancing with a little heel on my sandals. Once I removed my shoes I danced the night away.

During the evening Craig got up and rapped to one of the songs. He was great and the hit of the evening. Those who saw it wanted a repeat & those who missed it wanted to see what they missed. One of my niece's best friends was using my niece's camera to take photos. After a few pics she realized he needed to be recorded.

My niece said all of the photos on her camera are gone.

People were still talking about him at the wedding.

She was calling from the Knights of Columbus hall around the corner - went over and lifted the hood (she was driving my dad's old station wagon) and discovered that the sepentine belt had snapped - it happened right next to the nearly empty parking lot and she managed to wrest the car in and park it

Dinner: My first ever Coronation Chicken Sandwich.

At least as I understand it to be. Chicken Salad with Thousand Island on bread? The bread was "Pane di Casa" from Arthur Avenue in the Bronx.

It totally works as a combination and I was reminded that Thousand Island is similar to various "sandwich spreads" that go with many things. I found that you mustn't slather on too much of the dressing because it can overpower the main event. I corrected that on my second one. Oh yes, there was a second one.

the kind lady bartender at the KoC allowed her to come in and use the phone and wait for me - she also wrote a note to the people in charge explaining that the car was disabled so that it wouldn't be towed away

Vixter was very lucky had she traveled another 2 blocks she would have been on the main road of town and almost certainly would have been in an accident

I used "craisens" sold by Ocean Spray - if you make the chicken salad and let it meld for an hour or so they plump up nice and sweet. I got the idea from a sandwich I had from a deli near my office - in their version they also had walnuts - I didn't have any walnuts though

I would have no idea what this belt is called. Thank goodness she was near a parking lot.

I knew what it was because the exact same thing happened to me in my old station wagon (also a Ford Taurus) before I got my van - that time I was on a main road BUT I was also right next to a parking lot and was able to get off the road safely
