At the Screen Actors Awards:

Julianne Moore just thanked all the cast members of Game Change (about Sarah Palin) and I thought I heard "Sandy Bainum."  Sure enough, I looked at imdb and saw that Sandy played Cindy McCain!
Got that on reserve at the library. Can't wait to see it.

it is very good - I've seen it several times now on HBO

Yikes! I'm glad The Vixter is ok! How scary! Does she have a cell phone?

the cell phone suffered an accident the other day and we are awaiting a replacement

Last night we took my Dad out for his birthday dinner - we went to a local seafood restaurant  as he  loves seafood -

the specials were tailor made for him =

Oysters Rockerfeller as an appetizer and a 2 lb whole lobster , served with baked potato, stuffed clam and veggies for an entree

he was in heaven

Did you go to Popei's. There is one in Coram that Anthony's parent's like. And I know there is one in Deer Park also.

That is exactly where we went!

It's really quiet in our room.  I'm trying not to lose my cool about all this.

It will get easier, Matthew.

Did I say I started THE LADY VANISHES?  That was last night, right?  How it all runs together sometimes.  Anyhoo, I finished it this evening.  I'm loving this return to the early British Hitchcock films.  It's long overdue.  THE 39 STEPS will be next, then I'll have to branch out from Criterion Blu-rays to the Criterion laserdisc of BLACKMAIL.

Yes, DR Jrand62, these were shown on TCM tonight.  39 STEPS, LADY, and SABOTAGE.  It's:  a sign.  Couldn't help but watch a few minutes of them there, too.

Today, my sister and I saw "The Hobbit, part 1."  I saw it in the 3-D 48/fps showing, but she didn't want to see the 3-D.  I actually wanted to see the regular version to compare the differences and I liked seeing both versions.  I'm now watching the extended DVD of "The Fellowship of the Ring" to see how they did the Bilbo Baggins flashback.  I don't remember which movie it's actually on, but I'll find it.

Watching one of the biggest pieces of jaw-dropping pieces of WTF ever captured on celluloid, Al Jolson in blackface singing "Goin' to Heaven on a Mule."

Here's an excerpt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jIVuuNcg3w

Wow...just wow...certainly not in the good way.  :-X

My understanding is that that scene was filmed for this movie, it was not from any of the previous ones

I think this is the first I've ever heard about the Sims.

A friend of mine had one of the first releases of "SimCity," about 20 years ago.  He showed me what he had created and I just didn't get it.  That kind of video game never appealed to me.  I preferred the Super Mario games. :)

DR George, I worked with Stephen Terrell at Goodspeed on REDHEAD. You have more pleasant memories of him than I do.

SAG Awards should be starting about now, I think.

I didn't realize that they were on.  I started my DVR to record it about 10 minutes after the rebroadcast started, just as they were announcing the first category.  I didn't get the beginning, but at least I'll get all the winners.

Jane, I enjoyed "Injustice." It wasn't in "Foyle's" league, but what is? It was a good exploration of the gray surrounding moral issues.
