Mes enfants:  I've just had my first experience with the Demy film "les parapluies de Cherbourg", and I'm walking on air!

Quelle pastels!

A lovely film on DVD, engagingly presented, beautifully cast and charmingly sung.

Here I've gone and captured a 1960s moment in the 2000-oughts!

I’m surprised it was your first time.

Take a hint from RLP, if you have not seen THE THE UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG, do so.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know I received an "official" E-mail from E-Bay stating someone was attempting to use my account.  I thought it sounded funny so I forwarded it to the security department of E-bay.

Just got a reply from E-bay that told me that it was a fake (as I thought) and to delete it.

Just wanted to warn you.  If you get something like this, it is more than likely a fake to trick you into giving some third party your sign on information.

Speaking of movies you might not have seen and should……

Keith and I watched two, very moving, Canadian movies, written by our own Panni.   The first was CHARLIE GRANT’S WAR which I had wanted to see since first reading about it here, and the second movie which takes place many years after the war, TWO MEN.  I can’t recall who has seen these movies, but I highly suggest everyone try to find them.  At moments like this I wish I could write brilliant reviews to do justice to the films.

Kind of like the 809 area code scam.  I believe it is 809.

Still going Danise. :)

I missed Star Gate Atlantis last week.  I wanted to stay up and at least see the start of this weeks show but confess, I'm getting very tired.  I think I'll have to catch it in reruns.

I need Tivo (Sp?).

Night folks.

Media Check:

CD: WE FIVE: YOU WERE ON MY MIND & MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY (Double LP set on one cd).

VCR: GIRLS ON THE LOOSE taped off of TCM

DVD: The Wild and Wicked (A.K.A. FLESH MERCHANT)  a sleazy no budget film from 1956

And this weekends Bollywood movie is:

GIRL FRIEND (2004).

Most Bollywood films avoid controversial subjects, and homosexuality is almost unheard of in Indian films (although an awful lot of the male background dancers are rather, well, flamboyant, and in fact so are a lot of the male comedians), so this film will be quite interesting. It is about two young women who are best friends. One of the gals falls in love with a guy and the other gal finds herself becoming more and more jealous...since she is in love with her gal pal! Yep, Bollywood lesbians!

It sort of sounds like it might be a lot like A CHILDREN'S HOUR, but with singing and dancing!

DVD: THE COOLER with William H. Macy
TIVO: STAR GATE ATLANTIS

Until Danise said something I thought it was STAR GATE without the Atlantis. ;D

I missed "Atlantis" last week, too.  Of course, I was doped up on morphine in hospital, but I regretted missing it all the same.

Seems I’m just talking to myself and Keith has finished playing his game, Painkiller, Heaven’s Got a Hitman, on the computer.  I would say it is time for us to go watch that DVD now.

Goodnight.

Hello from New Mexico. We drove a lot today. We should be home tomorrow night. My brother woke me and Susan up at 7 this morning, which is early to us. He thought we needed a long time to load all our stuff into the car, but it took exactly seven minutes.

What did you drop on yourself, Mom? Are you OK?

How's it going, Ann? Are you still at the airport?

Thank you all for your empathy over my little moving accident. I'm not quite sure how, but I dropped a large television on my thighs and have some rather impressive bruises. At least I came out from that encounter better than the television.

And now we see Laura's master plan... she finally found a way to end her husband and Sandra's hollering in the living room at Diamondbacks games. :D

I am so tired I am about to drop.  I can't believe that you guys talked about Big Brother and Amazing Race when I wasn't here.  Sadly I have not even had a chance to watch my tape of yesterday's Big Brother.

Charla and Mirna on Amazing Race are hilarious.  But if that girl says that the little one needs a doctor again, I"m gonna scream!

So did Ken win again on Jeopardy?

A missed opportunity... Just read the headline of a review of THE FROGS: "Musical Frogs Proves less than Riveting"
Shouldn't that have been "Ribbeting"?

A quiet day it seems.  There wlll be trouble ahead  and not just in River City.  20 + posts in the next two hours will be expected. A frenzy must be well overdue.  TV at the moment here is "Alegria" - the only cirque du soleil performace we have seen live . We went a couple of years ago - the tickets were my retirement gift. An enchanting evening it was.

Update media check:  Been copying a few CDs today for DR Ben. Also for myself, some Billy Eckstine from the late forties/early fifties.

Next Cd may be the Best of the Beach Boys - I want to play "Ten Little Indians" as a tribute to DR TCB's upcoming performances which shall of course be brilliant. I may follow this with Cat Stevens "Father & Son" for another connection.

"Circus" such an amazing art form. Cirque Du Soleil has certainly raised the art form to a new level. I still gasp at the timing of the Trapeze artists etc. I loved circus movies when I was a kid.
