BK

Re: 1967 Tony Awards.

There were a few years where the best book and best score awards were won with the Best Musical award. I believe it was separated in 1970 the year of Company. They actually separated the best score as best music and best lyrics. Sondheim won both.

There is a NY award Drama Desk (I think) that gives separate music  and lyric award. Quite often they go to different people/shows

I think that they should have a "Best Song" category, like the Oscars.  It would be separate from the score (music and lyrics) and can recognize a single, very good song from a more-than-likely crappy show.  Just my opinion.

Dear George.

Scary.  I hope they get the guy.

Thanks...Ethan's doing well but I haven't heard anything about the guy who tried to grab him, yet.

Just got word that my ex-wife's mom died - in her mid-90s so a nice long life.  She was a very nice woman.  Even though the ex and I never talk, the mom would always ask the Darling Daughter about me, and the Darling Daughter gave her the Kritzer books to read as well as the first three Hofstetter books - she was a mystery fan and especially liked the latter.

My condolences to you and your daughter, BK.

The Hunger Games trilogy (all 3 books) is only $5.
This is a great series.

And now, I must be off.  We're having a training session for the executive boards of the base and supervisor's unions.  I don't know what it's going to entail, but hopefully, it'll be fun.

Be back later.

But before I go...

tod

The Great Train Robbery
Westworld
The Carey Treatment based on his novel which he wrote under the name Jeffrey Hudson

I vaguely remember my sister and I watching "Westworld" and really liking it, but I can't remember it anymore...but I'll add it to my list. ;)

Andromeda Strain (the original, NOT the TV remake)
Jurassic Park (I've only seen the first one)
Twister
Westworld

PBS is showing this special on Judy Collins performing at the Metroplitan Museum. I love JudyCollins, but she's looking more and more like Miss Havisham every day!

I've been watching this program on Paranormal Activity on ScyFy: too noisy, and silly rather than spooky. It's like Ghost Hunters in that nothing's ever seen so they keep trying to spook you with fast cuts and noise.

Is this in reference to Judy Collins? She's a lovely lady, but her hair is now snow white and she's very pale.

I read that as  "carpenter ants"

Dropped the ex-wife an e-mail - she responded and said that her mom was my biggest fan to the very end - very sweet.  If the timing is right and it's not a horrid drive, I'll probably go to the funeral.  I went to her dad's funeral when he passed away.

I think that would be  a lovely gesture .  Please give your daughter my condolences on the loss of her grandmother

I shall look forward to seeing them DR MBARNUM.

I am waiting for the delivery men to call and let me know they are bringing my new washing and drying appliances.

Do we get pictures?

From DR Ben:
Quote
We had a wonderful visit with Dear Larry this afternoon. He's too kind about me <blush>

I doubt he was too kind since I can't imagine that it is possible too kind about you DR Ben.

I agree! Ben and Anthony are two of the kindest gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure to meet

That's odd it doesn't open for you.

They charged him twice for his stay which left his account overdrawn & no access to money.

I didn't say that the link would not open for me. I said that i could not open the link now (meaning i was on my kindle).

Thanks for explaining.  I would think that it would be fairly easy for him to prove that he was charged twice. It sounds like he did not pay by credit card (which would have been much easier for him as then he could simply have called his credit card company and they would have reversed the 2nd charge).

LOL I'm glad it was just that you were on your Kindle.

It didn't make any sense that they couldn't find & easily correct the problem.  Apparently twitting helped to get a reaction from them and the money has been returned to Jason. :)

good news!
