Well, you've read the notes, the notes had lug nuts, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently trying to loosen the lug nuts on their autoMOObile.

Good morning, all! Around 5:45 I had a panic attack about ROBERTA and the fact that I am currently in conductor hell, and that was the end of my sleeping. Around 6:45, I figured to hell with it, bathed, and dressed. In another hour or so, I'll do the week's laundry, mop the bathroom and plan my next course of action.

There's been no fallout from yesterday's spectral visitation, or whatever it was, so I'm still unsure of what was going on there. I've just sent the recording producer an inquiry into when we'd hear the rest of the DEAREST ENEMY,  which I'm certain will get me a terse, unpeasant response.  Color me discontent today.

The visitation coming to Larry on the major event day in Vatican City -  I worry that a parody lyric for "A Call from the Vatican" may be coming on, maybe I should get some coffee before I'm moved to actually do soemthing about that.

As I've said elsewhere, I'm really very confused that the people on the chat boards seem to be calling everyone who is loving KINKY BOOTS a shill - our "bridge and tunnel" friends and friends who saw it in Chicago have enjoyed it a great deal, and believe me, for the most part, they don't know nobody in show business (except the likes of us).  Nobody's claiming it's great literature, but the raving to their friends has been unmistakable.

TOD

Probably, as DR Mike said, seeing the Rathbone films on TV as a youngster.

Somewhere around college age somebody got me into the books, and I read through the entire set (I think).

However, I haven't been good at all about keeping up with stage or screen versions.  I'm not even sure I've seen A STUDY IN TERROR, which sounds nice.  I did just recently buy the set of all the Rathbone films on Blu-ray and I look forward to cracking that open one of these days.

My favorite Sherlock Holmes?

Hmmm....

I wonder who that could be.

If you enjoy the British music hall genre, give a listen to last Friday's Friday Night is Music Night. It's a lot of fun. It's only available until about 3pm EST.

The truth is that my interest in Basil Rathbone was not so much his Sherlock Holmes movies, but the swashbucklers he made with Errol Flynn and Tyrone Power.  However, it was, of course, the Holmes films that made the book (and now my stage play) good sellers.

Thursday morning greetings!  Like DR Elmore, I woke up early this morning thinking about a lot of things that need to be done.  This afternoon we're taking my Mom shopping.

Add me to the list of Basil Rathbone watchers from childhood. One of the channels would show a different Holmes every Sunday afternoon after we got home from church. I was in about seventh or eighth grade and it got me to read the stories then.

Favorite Sherlocks: Rathbone, Nicol Williamson and Benedict Cumberbatch with special mention to Buster Keaton for Sherlock Jr.

Here's a link to a full showing of Sherlock Jr.

TOD:

First saw The Hound of the Baskervilles with Mr Rathbone on late night TV.  And then watched all of them in the series.

I like A Study In Terror.....and I like ALL versions of the HOUND.....DR CP wrote a very nice version.  My least favorite is probably the Christopher Lee/Peter Cushing version.....

I have read a SH Collection.....and even of the stories HOUND is my favorite.

TOD: In the movies, I like Rathbone best. I am also enjoying Jonny Lee Miller's take on the character in "Elementary".
