And for those who are interested in classic and current horror and sci fi film books/dvds/music/etc, voting for the Rondo Awards is currently happening:

No HHW connections this year. Maybe next year, though. Still it is fun to vote and I am always amazed at  how much I missed over the year!

Hopefully that publicity photo isn't too graphic for a family site. But I am certain most of us here would happily dance with him!

I love that movie. I have a reservation for it at the library. Can hardly wait to see it again. It's been years.

Fun Filichia on Friday for Patti LuPone fans out there. And, I know, that does not include a few you.

I love the idea of it being a LIBRARY item that people put on reserve.  I am sure Miss Allison Hayes would be pleased.

Did I mention that last night I finally heard a Hofstetter audition that I felt was actually in the ballpark?  I'll have to direct her a little, but she really has the rhythms down pretty well, and I like her subtle character delineations, and I really like her Adriana.  So far, she's at the top of the list.

Are these people you know or are you using that website you mentioned once?

I know a couple, but most I don't - they're coming to me from the mom of the Staitman girls, who knows a ton of young performers.
That is good that they are performers and not just random girls she knows. Did you try any of the girls from that website. I would have thought that they would be more experienced at doing audio recordings.

Didn't like any of the young girls I heard on the site.

I had a (mostly) lovwly time at the rehearsal this afternoon.

On my way there, I ran into my beloved Karen Ziemba, who was coming from a rehearsal of Broadway Backwards at Carol. I hadn't seen her in several years so I'm happy we got a chance to visit for about 10 minutes. The SUPERMAN score is a hoot, and the orchestra rehearsal from 12:00-2:00pm was a lot of fun. I really like Joshie's parents and I'm happy that I got to spend the time with them. They saw Joshie's show DONNYBROOK last night and tomorrow they're seeing PASSION, which their son Jeremy is playing in. After the lunch break, which I spent chatting with several musicians, Tripp the stage manager, a copyist friend, and actor David Pittu, who's playing the mad scientist.

Around 2:45, the cast and assorted guests, including lyricist Lee Adams began showing up, so I prepared to leave. I don't want to watch the actors deal with the band for the first time, and, while I don't know the reasons Encores! producer Jack Viertel dislikes me, his continual rudeness and efforts to ignore me completely, even while i'm working on his productions, loses its amusement factor very quickly. As  I left, they were waiting for Charles Strouse to show.

As I walked up 54th Street, Will Swenson ran by me on his way to rehearsal. I wanted to yell, You're late, but he doesn't know me and he'd just think I was being obnoxious.

I'm sure someone has posted this and I''ve missed it in the rush of the last few days, but here is a hilarious parody of life after "Happily Ever After" in four Disney toons.

DR JohnG, here is the list of songs from Tom Wopat's new cd:

I keep hoping he does have my number. I've certainly given it to him enough times.

We are having a beautiful sunny day.  This morning when I looked outside I noticed everything just seemed prettier & the mountains are turning green.

The geese were back in the pond so Keith had to chase them away again.  We have learned from experience geese can be ornery if you let them settle in.

Well, I had my third computer shut down this morning - where I'm told to immediately shut down the computer.  The last one (of three) occurred a week and a half ago and the one before that about a month prior.  I talked to a senior tech and he had me look at the report logs and he ascertained that it's not a software problem but a hardware problem most likely with the motherboard.  He said I have to take the thing in to the Apple Store and let them suss it out - he says they'll know very fast what it is.  I have Apple Care so it doesn't cost me anything - it's annoying with a computer that's one year and three months old.  It could take up to seven days to fix it, but that depends on how busy they are.  It could also take twenty-four hours.  So in it goes on Monday at noon and then, of course, I'm gone until Saturday night, so hopefully I'll be able to go in there on Sunday and pick it up, working like new.  While it's there I may have them put the latest operating system on - Mountain Lion.

I have noticed that lately, my pants are rather snug and difficult to button. No connection with my previous post, I am sure.
