I think I will begin my next book now, THE AFFAIR NEXT DOOR by Anna Katherine Green.  Has anyone read this?  The author is referred to as "She was one of the first writers of detective fiction in America".

I found the book at my eBook library.  I just noticed it is part of a series.  Now I'm wondering if I should begin with this one.

I'll be reading THE LEAVENED BREAD CASE in preparation for Passover.

(Not really, but it's a post.)

I'm not sure I get the fuss over the 22-ounce MacDonald's Shamrock shake having 820 calories.

So just have a 16-ounce shake and voila, it's only 600 calories!  (Give someone else the other 6 ounces.)

("Voila' is an Irish term meaning, just don't drink the whole 22 ounces, you'll have a lot fewer calories.)

Back from Fine Swine, which was good with plenty of food, but only the judges really got to eat a lot of the pork. I wasn't heartbroken, but it seemed odd to draw attention to the cook-off part and then not really share that food with the mere mortals in attendance.

I'm finding this article strange, as if I must be missing something.  The San Francisco Orchestra is striking, but the article implies the average pay of teh players is $165,000 each.

Laura - I'm trying to remember, were you the first one to have shown me this?  (I think it may have been someone here.)

I'm sorry, FJL. I cannot take credit for showing that here. I did, however, post the cherpumple video.

That was awesome.

When I change that quote under my posts and someone goes back later to read it, they are going to think I have a drinking problem. Well, I do. I spill stuff on myself all the time.

LOL!

Oh--it just clicked.  I've heard of the priest and rabbi, too.  Either heard them together on the radio, or maybe they were on TV at some point?

They did have a TV show at one point, they called themselves The God Squad

I watched a very, very strange Bollywood movie about a man who buys his young wife a demon, and then becomes jealous of it.

It wasn't as good as it sounds, either.
