THE DAY I NEEDED TO HAVE

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the notes they needed to be, and now it is time for you to post until the needy cows come home.

Set off in the motor this morning and after a few yards started wondering what the flapping noise was. Stopped the car, looked out the window and saw I had a flat. Drove back into the drive, looked on the internet and found a local mobile tire supplier, who I'm now waiting for, having said they'll be here within the hour.

Good morning, all!

The noisy neighbor is back, and he spent a good deal of time walking about kast night before settling down and around 3:30am, the printer started up again. After the last time this happened, I've been trning it odd before going to bed, and I forgot last night.

Today is a Toyland day. I have to wait for a paper shipment, and tomorrow I have to wait for binding supplies. I have no plans beyond that today.

Greetings from Toyland!

Just as I was ready to leave, one of the electric outlets in my apartment - and there are far too few! - went out, shutting down my tv, DVD, reading lamp, alarm clock, and several other lights and appliances. I sent an electrician request to my landlord and also checked with my super about an electrician.  God alone knows when this repair will occur, so I am a bit pissed at the moment.

Monday morning greetings!  It is still snowing, but surfaces that have been plowed and salted are clear.  That includes our driveway - our guy must have been here before we woke up this morning - so Richard and I are getting ourselves ready to go to Cathy's funeral.

That is an interesting review DR ELMORE.  Thanks for the link.

TOD:

I like Christopher Lee more than I like Peter Cushing....and they have done so many films together, I certainly expected them sooner or later to turn up in a version of THE ODD COUPLE.

Of the Hammer Films - I particularly like:

Curse of the Werewolf
Plague of the Zombies
The Mummy
Brides of Dracula
Kiss of the Vampire
Evil of Frankenstein

Precious is having reverse sneezes today.....sounds worse than it is.  We have to massage her throat when it happens.

I don't enough of the Hammer films to comment. I've always enjoyed Christopher Lee, but outside of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," I can't think of a film of his. (Except the LOTR movies, which I was not a fan of.)

Interesting review of the Larry Hart, Larry. Thanks for posting the link. And once again the one comment that gets it totally wrong is the Ethan Mordden comment. Larry Hart and Cole Porter were different simply because they were two different people. Both could be cynical about love, both could be incredibly, romantically passionate. Both could be masochistic, both could be clever. I find Porter the more sophisticated of the two and possibly more accomplished, because he also wrote his own music and because his work ethic was greater. But comparisons such as Mordden's are off base and worthless.

Of course Cole Porter was more sophisticated - he was from Indiana.

TOD:

I'm not a fan of Peter Cushing or Christopher Lee or of the Hammer horror films in general (which, when seeing them as a teenager, I thought were poorly made when compared to Roger Corman's Edgar Allan Poe films) so my sole choice would be THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. The only Hammer films I really liked were the black and white, psycho-thrillers written by Jimmy Sangster and the Quatermass films.

I'm up at least an hour earlier than I wanted to be - took me a while to fall asleep and then I awoke a few times during the night.

I've proofed the scene change and the Exit Music, and all that's left to be done is "Clementina."  When the4 copyist finishes it, the first draft of the score is finished and we can see how much damage needs to be repaired and buttressed.

I'm heading for home now. No word from my landlord, but that's par.
