I can't eat corn. I use cabbage leaves.

LOL And you call it a taco, not a mushroom roll?

The regionals for American Ninja Warrior are in Baltimore on April 19-20.  Patrick thinks he'll be competing there; if not he'll be in Miami in May.  If he's in Baltimore I'm planning on going.

I hope you can watch him compete.

That's impressive. I got tired just watching him do the pullups.

There are actually one or two Tex-Mex places in town that have begun offering lettuce or cabbage instead of corn, which is smart given how high the diabetes rate is here.

TOD: The only time I remember seeing Richard Widmark is that I Love Lucy episode mentioned previously.  I'm not sure I've ever seen a Victor Mature movie.
You should see Road House. Ida Lupino plays a drifter who lands in a tiny town. She gets a job singing at the local bar/bowling alley. She falls for Cornel Wilde and Widmark falls for her. Celeste Holm is there, too. It's a great movie.

Great idea.  Is the cabbage raw for that crunchy texture?  What kind of mushrooms did you use?  It sounds good.  Onions with the mushrooms might be good too.

Back from rehearsal.  Returned to a couple of nice packages in the mail:

My YOUNG GIRLS have arrived!  Just checked the disc, hitting a couple of chapter stops, and it looks (and sounds) fantastic.  Hard to believe this will be only my second Jacques Demy film.  (I've ordered US DVDs for two other Demys:  THE PIED PIPER and BAY OF ANGELS.)

I wanted to watch that tonight but there's some stuff going on that might prevent it.

Also got the UK Blu-rays of (HORROR OF) DRACULA, PEEPING TOM, and LA GRANDE ILLUSION.

I'm off.  Tonight is Theater Artists Olympia's monthly board meeting and I have to give my treasurer's report...I get to tell the board that we brought in almost $800 in walk-up ticket sales for our first (of four!) weekend of "Reservoir Dogs"!  Of course, I've had to write some reimbursement checks, but we're still ahead! ;D

Be back later.

The cabbage is raw and adds crunch. I used cremini mushrooms from Costco.

Just on Tuesdays. It's one of the perks. I like it. So does the bird.

Started watching Gene Kelly in "An Invitation to the Dance." The first number at the circus is meh. Or is it my dislike of circuses?

So far today we have had rain, hail, sleet, freezing rain and now we are going to have snow.  Oh, I forgot the wind, thunder and lightning.  We had that too. Not sure what's going to be happening in the morning.  We'll see if my Merry Maids arrive
