My goodness, will you just look at how DR Ginny circulates through the Social Circles!

I used to notice them when travelling in various countries and about 10 years ago they opened in the U.K. Someday soon perhaps I'll make the big step and try them out I hate the smell of Subway. I can recognize it before I even see the place.

Oops, I missed Jane. Welcome back, Jane!
Quote from: Jeanne on April 27, 2013, 01:17:21 PMI've been watching LES MIS. So far the only performance that has impressed me has been the young Cosette. I have seen nothing I feel is Oscar-worthy. I will say, though, that Helena Bonham Carter makes a great witch. I was very impressed with the guy who played Marius. And re: Hugh Jackman other than the fact that he is a big name I see little comparison between him and Russell Crowe. Hugh Jackman is a broadway performer with an amazing voice.

Quote from: ChasSmith on April 27, 2013, 01:48:35 PMMy goodness, will you just look at how DR Ginny circulates through the Social Circles!Well, I've lived in this town for almost 40 years and tonight will be my first visit to country club #2, which should tell you something...
I'm now watching "Rock of Ages," which is a horrible property, but the movie seems to be as well made as a such a piece of garbage deserves.
Quote from: Jrand62 on April 27, 2013, 04:14:35 AMThat is a nice photo on Facebook that includes MR BK of the cast of the show he saw....and others.Where on Facebook, DR Jrand62? Mind you, I know next to nothing about getting around on Facebook; I'm probably the most ignorant adult on the face of the planet when it comes to that.

Martha Moody was a very good speaker and responded well to some great questions. There was a good mix of AAUW members and non (but prospective) members. The meal at country club #1 was quite mediocre.Shame about the meal but nice the speaker was good. Do you recommend reading any of her books? Her first 3 are kind of "chick" books - very character-driven and relationship-oriented. Her newest, which I bought today, is futuristic, set in Dayton. One of the characters is a history professor who delivers a lot of historical background. My book group liked her first, BEST FRIENDS, very much.

I feel so much better knowing this fact.
