Back from across the road from the cows (who must have been out running errands or something), to await the phone call telling me what the damages will be...which might not even come till tomorrow.  In the meantime, got a brand-spanking-new VW Passat to drive around in.

If they are smart, JRand, they will play cards for several days so they can continue to rake in that twelve dollars a day.

I'm listening the to the OBC of Pacific Overtures - just thought I'd mention that.

Such an amazing score, and those orchestrations are amazing.  I feel like I'm on a ship in the sea

Congratulations to DR Ben on a lovely evening at the theater!

I need to find me some $35 evenings at the theater, lemme tell you.  Yes, sir.  That's what I need.

In the Olympia theater scene, a $35 ticket is overpriced...but people pay that for some local theater companies.

I enjoyed Sunday night's MAD MEN episode as well....and of course the TAR finale gave us a good winning team!

They were a good team, and seemed like nice guys.

I think the highest we go around the local scene here (for musicals, plays are less) is $25.  Maybe a couple of bucks more at one place.

What I want for $35, though, is what DR Ben got:   Broadway!   :)

Nice autograph(s) DR ChasSmith!

Sad about Harryhausen...he was one of the reasons that I wanted to go into film making (which, of course, I never did...other than my spree of 8mm productions in during my Jr. High school days)

Theater Artists Olympia charges $12 for plays and $15 for musicals.  We want to start something like a Kickstarter program to raise money to put on The Rocky Horror Show. :D

I shall be taking the car into the dealership ("across the road from the cows" -- and I did see them last time) at noon for a new set of all-season tires and front end alignment -- and, if they can do it at the same time, some vacuum hoses that need to be replaced.  An Oy! for the wallet, to be sure, but it will be great to have these things done.  I must say I take pretty nice care of this car, and every time I drive out of there it's like the thing is new again.  For a while.  Until the next Thing.

I finally got my income tax refund last week and haven't spent it yet.  I will call the dealer to get my car serviced, since it's been a couple of years since I've had any real work done on it.  I'm sure that it won't be cheap, but that's what I use my refund for. ;)

That's more the price range we were in -- fifteen years ago!  Things took a flying leap around here.

I didn't get to bed until three.  Woke up at eight-thirty, went back to bed, woke up at eleven and have been catching up ever since.  I decided to finish the Martyn Bedford book, Flip, last night.  It's very enjoyable.  First fiction book I've read since I began writing fiction.  I'd sent the author the first two Kritzer books - he loved the first one and we used a blurb from him on Kritzerland regarding the first book.  We corresponded for a while but I had no idea if he liked the second book or not, and then it was off my radar about even sending the third book, although I may have.

But I have to say, there were a few short times in Flip where I thought there was a little Kritzer going on, and especially in the book's final paragraph, which seems mighty inspired by the ending of Kritzerland - it worked there and it works here :)
