Thoughts about
THE MENTALIST:
I just finished watching the season finale of
THE MENTALIST, and I must say that I am getting totally bored with the "Red John" storyline. It just goes on and on and on. They should have ended it 2 seasons ago, but it is going to continue into next season.
Have the show's producers or writers even decided on the ultimate identity of "Red John"?
If not, I have a suggestion.
"Red John" should be PATRICK JANE. He has a Jekyll/Hyde personality and is completely unaware of it.
I know that might sound ridiculous because Patrick Jane is the likable hero of this series.
On the other hand, if he WAS revealed to be "Red John" when the series finally ends,
THE MENTALIST would surely be hailed as the most remarkable, ground-breaking dramatic series ever to air on television.
I can't remember another series where the hero turned out to be the villain. Can you?
(Remember, if
THE MENTALIST does end that way -- and I have absolutely no inside information on how or when it will end -- you read it here first.)
