Back from a three-mile jog and a really random bit of wackiness - a bee flew into my neck on the left side - I felt it and immediately brushed it off - I couldn't tell if it had stung me - no real pain in the neck, but about three minutes later I felt a sharp pain in my finger on the hand I'd brushed the bee away with - I squeezed that finger as hard as I could, just in case, but didn't feel anything and then the pain went away. I also kept tugging and squeezing at my neck all the way home. The worker guy suggested I take a credit card and scrape both neck and finger with it really hard - he said that will get the poison out IF I was stung, as there's always a little bump - but he also said even if I was stung, nothing to do about it and all will be well in a few hours anyway. Nothing is swelled up or anything so I hope it's all fine.

I think if you have any reaction to a bee sting, it happens within a few minutes. Scary, though, because most of us have no idea whether we've developed such allergies over the years - and some people find out the hard way. The last time I had a bee sting was probably as a kid playing in the yard.

Believe, me, DR Jrand62, I look at that picture now and wonder the same thing. As far as I recall, I always did reach pedals, but it sure doesn't look like it there.

My mom only within the last 10 years or so had developed an allergy to bee stings. She now has an epi pen, just in case.

If I enable "signatures" right now, would someone know how to test it - you know, do the little quote thing that appears in all your posts? Not sure if you have to check something in your own preferences or if I can just make it global. In fact, I never did it so I don't even know how it works.

Like ChasSmith said, if you don't have a reaction fairly quickly, you don't need to worry. An EpiPen is a brand name, but used generically:
