That is what I have been wanting to post about, but kept forgetting.  24/7 Wall Street with their latest list of "The Ten Brand Names that they predict will disappear from America.  This new list is for 2014,  Topping their list is Nook. They are usually right about 50 to 60% each year, but it might be something to keep in mind when deciding on a e-reader.  They have a whole explanation for their choices, but I don't remember why the Nook is doomed.

That is what I have been wanting to post about, but kept forgetting.  24/7 Wall Street with their latest list of "The Ten Brand Names that they predict will disappear from America.  This new list is for 2014,  Topping their list is Nook. They are usually right about 50 to 60% each year, but it might be something to keep in mind when deciding on a e-reader.  They have a whole explanation for their choices, but I don't remember why the Nook is doomed.

I hope not!  Our library just bought 60, count 'em, 60 Nooks with unique content on each to circulate to our patrons.  At least I don't have any personal stake in them.

Then I went to see my former cat sitter and get some rhubarb from them.

How is she doing now?  I hope you have told her that their is a whole group of people who have kept her in their prayers.

I have no idea how I screwed that up, but I have already taken my pain pills so there is no way I can figure it out now.

The party went well tonight. Plenty of food, friends and liquids.

The liquids were the most important part because I think it hit 100 here today.

And of course, there was grilling involved, because this is Texas and we just pile heat on heat.

The cake turned out fine, except for the decoration, which looked a little too amateurish, but it's the first cake I've decorated in at least five years.

People loved the raspberry rhubarb filling.

I used to cook a lot of rhubarb when I lived in Catskill. It grew like a weed. Easy stuff to prepare. Cut up the ribs and cook them down in a double boiler with cinnamon. Didn't even need sugar.

Haven't tried cooking it any other way, and it's very expensive here, maybe $7 or $8 a pound.
