I'm not sure why anyone would get a timed out response - it really makes no sense.  Maybe I'll nose around in settings.

Also, has anyone had a problem with  this site's  "your session timed out"?  I'm surprised that this has happened to me several times now.
Larry, when you log in, do you log in at the bottom of a page and specify a time to stay logged in, or do you log in at the top of the page where one of the drop-down box options is "forever"?  I never log out, so I never have to log in...on my home computer, at least.

DR George,  I believe I'm permanently logged in, but I think it's a posting thing about taking your time between typing the message and clicking on "post." I often start a post, go look something up, and then finishit, and I'm wondering if that delay kills it.

Larry, that happens to me...just hit "post" again and it should post without any trouble.

Now available as a Kindle book!

Interestingly, when one looks at this ebook when their home address it is in Canada it is $9.70. And when your address is US it is $3 something.

Tonight I am going to a board meeting for an organization I am active with. They have their board meetings in bars. Much more fun than church board meetings.

Well, I must go to bed...but I've finished all the "Behind the Candelabra" DVDs, so I'll send them out today.  Just to confirm, the people who've asked for them are BK, Druxy, John G., Arnold M. Brockman and Kate.  And I also have "Carousel" for Laura.

DVDs have been sent!  Let me know if you don't get them.

;)

I just came home and the DVD was not in the mail. Should I alert PayPal?

Dance class got canceled tonight. So, I'm at home with a bracing splash of gin, Aperol and vermouth with two dashes of cherry bitters and one of rhubarb.

Thank you to DRs George, Elmore, John G, Laura, and MBarnum for the vibes, commiserations, and good wishes.  Exercising at the Y helped, as did the nice spaghetti & salad dinner I prepared when we got home.

At Kroger:

1)  Some geezer tried to chat me up about the price of decaf coffee,
2)  The first container of cottage cheese that I took out of the cooler had an expiration date of May 1,
3)  In the check out line, after I'd waited for the 2 people ahead of me to finish and after I'd loaded half of my groceries onto the conveyor, they decided to close that register, and
4)  The bagger in the second line dropped the reusable bag into which she'd just packed my cottage cheese and vanilla yogurt.  The white stuff went everywhere and she said, "You can wash the bag..."  There was a management-type nearby, who gave me a new reusable bag, made sure I got replacements for the 2 items (which took forever), and nodded sympathetically when I told her what an awful visit to their store it had been.

Was just on the phone with the tech guy - we can't find anything that would tell us we need to change a setting.  Everything is right.  And this would be a mass problem if it were indeed some global thing, but it's only happening to two or three people - our tech suggested it might be a browser setting.

I got one of those "timed out" messages, too, between when I started a PM and when I went to send it. I just immediately tried sending it again, and it went through.

Thanks, DR Singdaw!  I'm sure it will be much better after a good night's sleep and a day away from home tomorrow.

I see that DH Richard posted his sermon over on Facebook. I want to make sure to head back over there and print it out to look at later.

Our next door neighbors have a cute new little labradoodle puppy. Their older labrador seems none too amused.

He was just wondering at dinner if anybody ever looks at those sermons after he posts them!

I, too, got that timed-out message, either this morning or last night, when I was posting from my phone.  Bringing up the page and hitting "post" again did the trick.

Yikes, what a day, DR Ginny.  Hope the Y and the spaghetti & salad dinner have done the trick.

That's pretty poor performance from the likes of Kroger.  I hope it was just an off day for them, too.

We're just baffled by the timed out thing.  We've looked at all the settings and there's nothing there that would cause it.

Well, it all sounds kind of trivial, but I really didn't want to be there in the first place and I'd already had kind of a bad morning at home - computer problems.  So far, so good on that score this evening...
