I have no idea what was behind that "concept" other than one of the actors last night told me that when they were auditioning for the role, no one was any good. So they went with this because the performer is pretty good and has performed for Harlequin Productions and they like her (although I've been told that she's QUITE the diva backstage).

First and foremost, thanks to all of the lovely folks who welcomed me here today (as well as last evening, during my late night debut). As for serenading you here now and then, I may have to look into some discussion board serenade software first.

TOD: My Kander and Ebb memory is a little unclear, per the earliest stuff. I'm sure I was well aware of CABARET, at least via the audio, and maybe the film first. But my first live performance of K&E was, I believe, the pre-Broadway tryout of CHICAGO in my home town of Philly. I know I saw Chita and Gwen, so it had to be pre-Bway. I was blown away by the style, the music, the down low grit, and the humor of it all.

Years later, I got to play Billy up in Telluride, CO, at 9,000 feet altitude. "Reach for the Gun" is quite the challenge with no oxygen.

I can do it - because I am retired and don't also have to work!!! One day a week....and sometimes not even that.

And of course, planning and scheduling is key. Since I only do theatre in the summer/fall - I can do most of the pre production work during the winter.....

Most vets that I have known have suggested that if you're changing food, you do it gradually and by mixing old and new for a transition period. Might be worth a try.

I'd also heard that a slow transition is supposed to be the way to change a pet's food.

I just realized that the original Broadway production of CABARET opened in 1966, because my first trip to Manhattan was Christmas 1966 and it was impossible to get a ticket for the show. I must have seen the tour in Cincinnati in 1968.

And i am home from Toyland.

I also saw Cabaret on Broadway in 1969 - it still had Lenya and Jack Gilford, who were both beyond compare - brilliant. Martin Ross was a very good MC, and Anita Gillette was Sally.
